All-Star The Ultimate Battle 3-28-2014?

I saw the cover photo for "Spirit Sports Cheer and Dance" on FB says "The Ultimate Battle 3-28-2014." Does anybody know what it is? I understand it was only posted a few hours ago but I am sure others must know what it is.

I am not sure if it is a competition considering the date is on a Friday... but idk!

Reasonable to assume its varsity's version of the majors. I wondered how long it would take before they built their own (if that's what it is).

Should be interesting to find out but I sortof hope it's not something to bring an even larger crowd to BATB given the fact that facility is WAY too small already. I can't imagine fitting even more people into that dangerously overcrowded facility already. Was anyone else there for the fire alarm drama due to waay to many people? They already have dance warm ups in a tent in the parking lot.

I remember walking into awards and saying, wow I hope the fire Marshall doesnt see this! It took 10 minutes to get out of awards down that 50 yard hallway because it was literally one mass of sardines slammed together trying to move.....

And it was hotttttt....

....and then the fire alarm went off.

I wasn't sad to not return simply because the last two years we went it was ridiculously overcrowded. Not sure if the last two years have been better.

No wasn't there *that* particular year, but I did have the pleasure of being there the year it thunderstormed and my CP was warming up in the tent. Not just any tent- a leaky tent. However, intelligence prevailed and they put a stunt up to fix the hole

Nothing short of breathtaking, teams that are gearing up for the 2014 World Championships will have the opportunity to compete on Friday evening for the chance at $50,000 in prize money. well... while this may be a knockoff majors, the incentives are certainly better. $50000 is a little over double a full paid bid. i'm in. (though that's some pretty high stakes for one performance)

If this becomes the event they want it to be, they're going to have to have one stage on Friday and the connecting halls all open for seating (floor chairs back to the full bleachers) then break it up and reset for hall A and hall C for BATB over night. They will not be able to accommodate this is one half of that tiny convention center.

Now the question is WHICH teams, and how do the get selected? Or is it open registration? Interested to see how this evolves.

so what happens to cheer extreme teams? im assuming this is a one day thing PRIOR to the 2 day competition, so what about say senior elite? batb is their nationals. would they compete in both?

If this is the varsity version of the majors, the teams that compete in the majors on Friday do not compete in jamfest super nationals that weekend. I imagine it would be the same. You do one or the other.

I doubt $50k will all go to the same team. They have to have some sort of divisions.
