I would like to see a rule where a gym had to register the team's division before a certain date (say Oct 15 or before the first bid events). Allow for 1 change during the season, but the gym would have to file a request for the change with an explanation why and the request would have to be...
I am curious how that works. I haven't looked at the Cheersport schedule since we aren't going.
Here are the D2 eligibility rules from the Varsity site under D2 Summit FAQ's.
D2 Eligibility
NEW THIS YEAR- Single location D2 programs are the ONLY teams eligible for D2 Summit bids. Gyms must...
I believe you can only compete D2 at any competition if you have less than 125 athletes among all of your locations. I would find it hard to believe they can compete D2 being affiliated with GymTyme and the name on their uniforms.

And that is the problem with the way the article is written. It didn't clarify whether the other gyms weren't registered due to it not being on their schedule or due to the same issue as in Georgia.
I hope the finances are being handled properly at your location. Good luck in your season...
I remember CP being a part of a Virtual Championship years ago. They "qualified" at a comp then a panel reviewed the videos of the performances from around the country and declared a virtual winner. I don't think it was US Finals, but it was around the same time of year.
Sometimes, even though one has the info, it's better off letting someone from the actual gym answer. There are a lot of times I've refrained from replying to a post because it doesn't involve my gym. I may know how other gyms operate because I have friends there or I know a situation because...
Kudos to your CP for doing it all!
I echo your last point...you can't take it back! We started commuting this year (short compared to yours) and there is no way I could stop because I'm tired of the commute as long as cp is happy. It's a commitment - hw done in the car is not done with the...
I don't think bids should be deferred. I also think bid awarding comps should be completed 4 weeks before the event (I could see 3 weeks if the comp was near Orlando). There are a lot of logistics for families and gyms to plan a trip to Summit.
I also agree with the previous statement that the...
Shimmy x1,000,000!!!!
If a gym isn't allowed to have coaches present then they shouldn't be completing.
ETA: I was quoting Cheer Dad. Don't know why it didn't quote him. I'll blame it on technology. [emoji12]
I am merely a parent who cheers for my teams. I've not been "behind the scenes" much as a team goes on stage. I am fairly clueless about backstage events and staff so excuse any ignorant questions.
Say a team takes the stage and is getting in their starting formation. Susie notices the stage...

Kudos to those parents who found a way in to watch their child! It's ridiculous that a parent/grandparent would miss their child performing because of overcrowding! [emoji35]
This needs to be fixed ASAP!!! Give each parent a special lanyard with the gym & team name on it. That way they can be...
