Tell me about fundraising at different programs. How does it work at yours?

Do you get to come up with your own fundraisers?
Does the gym have a person in charge of handling fundraisers?
Does all of your profit go to you? or on your account?
Does the gym take a cut of your profit on fundraisers?

Just looking for info as to how other programs do it.

If you want to come up with a fundraiser you need to go to the booster club meetings held once a month. Suggest a fundraiser, have all the info and agree to be the POC for that fundraiser for the gym. The booster club people vote on if it would be a good idea. If they agree that it's good and if they think others will like it then you are responsible for heading that up.

All profit goes to you and to be used on any fees you would like. The only time the gym takes a cut of the profit is when we do raffle tickets ( a really big one we do every year) estimated about 100,000$ on raffle tickets get sold. Of this you get all profit from the $5 raffle tickets. However if you choose to do the fundraiser then you pay a one time fee of $10. Wether you choose to sell $300 worth or $20 worth you pay this fee once and it's to cover the cost of the raffle tickets that were ordered.


We also do sponsorships there is a letter with levels given that we can distribute to see if anyone wants to sponsor. A lot of peoples doctor and dentists will sponsor as well as other family friends with business because your name
Makes it on the back of one of our gym tshirts. I could share the letter and levels if you would like. All of the sponsorship goes to your kid. The only things kept from that is if they pay with CC for the sponsorship she deducts whatever the fee was that was charged to her for running the CC.
She doesn't do this on normal everyday transactions, people pay with what they wish. But sponsorships tend to be really high dollar amounts so she takes the small fee if they do it that way.

They do one a month on average but most don't participate on them. They just do the raffle mostly.

Parent board handles all fundraisers with approval of owners of course. We are open to suggestions from anyone of ideas to do. They cannot go out on their own and fund raise in the name of the gym. One person is the treasurer for the gym, just a quick email and she will disperse the funds to anything having to do with cheer, uniforms, privates, comp fees, hotels etc. All $ has to be used by the end of the season. We have individual ones, a few for the gym and/or "Florida fund" for Worlds/Summit tee's and practice wear. Some do and some do not participate at all in these.
