Amanda Graceffa based for the last two years, Angel,Kimsley. Honestly I think their are two types of cheerlebrities. Talent based ones and looks. Nothing agaisnt the look ones, but some of these girls wouldn't be idolized if they didn't look like barbie. Then there are some who are getting noticed for being fierce last pass/point jump/dancer/flyer. That's half the problem.

i wouldnt exactly say thats a problem. I mean, if you have thing long amazing tumbling line, or some kick booty jumps, you deserve to have some recognition.

YES! Badly worded. The girls that are idolize for no reason other than they look like barbies or real celebrities are the problem. That's where the mean girl aspect and jealousy comes in. Some athletes want the girls busting crazy passes to be idolized rather than a girl who is really pretty and 'rich'

Hello Fierce Boarders. I asked a general question about a cheerlebrity in which my child follows. The question was about her leaving an Elite gym and going to a non-elite gym in the same area (her choice). I don't see anything wrong with asking general questions about cheerlebrity's and the gym they are affiliated with. Since when did asking general questions become such a huge problem?? This is why they are cheerlebrity's because their cheerleading lives are in the eye of the public. I know that there have been threads regarding questions about cheerlebrity's but again I don’t understand people taking things

My cheerlebrity is Kiara Nowlin and Whitney Love. Their so good that i can't even explain it. :)

Here's my question:
What do you rate cheerlebrity 'worthiness' based on?

Is it what they're known for? Is it their skills? Is it how well-rounded they are? Do you 'dock points' if they're a specialist, even if they're a good one?

-The funny thing is, we talk ever so much about 'deserving'. Very few people 'deserve' anything, particularly in sports, and they hardly ever get it even if you think they do. It's mostly earned or given- that's part luck and part skill. You want it? Go out there and earn it. Stop crying because it's not handed to you on a silver platter.

I agree. To me, majority of "cheerlebritys" seem to be flyers. And by all means, dot get me wrong, those girls are great, but i'd love to see some more recognized bases. Some that I can think of off the top of my head are Whittney Love, Kiara Nowlin, and Toni Bronisevsky. Then again, those girls are all BEAST tumblers, and more so recognized for that. So I'm going to go ahead and say that no, there are no cheerlebritys know for their basing skills :/ which is incredibly unfortunate.
(keep in mind that their may be, i just cant think of them. But, that goes to show how few there really are; if any)
Bailey Peyton, cheer athletics Panthers. She's my favorite :)

I was just gonna post this! Bailey is one fierce base!

Then again, there are some flyers who are BEAUTIFUL in the air, and don't get even half as much credit as they should, just because of the team they're on or the way they look. These girls are super talented but everyone just overlooks them because they're on Podunk Allstars, not point flyer, or don't look like Barbie. Some of them, I'm shocked that so many people DON'T know who they are, because they're just amazing at what they do. Gotta say I wish Kendall from GBE (the flyer with the curly bob and the fierce switch kick double) would get more credit... People seem to overlook her because she wasn't point, which is really sad. I personally look up to her because she showed me that you don't have to be point in a routine to be an amazing flyer... I wish more people would realize that with not just Kendall, but with other flyers as well.

exactly. But I think the reason people do that is because cheer is a team sport and the better your team is, the more videos are on YouTube for people to see how y'all look, ect. I know who Kendall is and she is truly amazing and so is her team, IMO. But I totally see why she's not as known as say Jamie Andries. Some people put everything on the "Barbie" look, but most like to follow the crowd so they look at center point flyers on big name gyms. That's just how some people are...

Sometimes I wish cheer was like, say, hockey. The well known players on hockey teams are known for their skills, not their looks. And even if a team isn't doing as well as others, the players are still looked up to. It's really unfortunate to see cheer taking the superficial route :help:

Hockey players also wear helmets, and you're too concerned with watching a puck to be staring at a person's face. Just sayin'..
