I would DIE to go on BB. It's been my dream since I was 5 years old and I am most definitely applying every year until I either make it on the show or I die.

Fun Fact: Analyse from this season just graduated from my college. She was on our soccer team and I was on cheer.

As someone who briefly worked in reality TV (not BB, but Real World, the Challenges, Kardashians, etc), here’s some advice:

    1. It’s boring. No TV and BB has no internet. I don’t think BB lets you read, because that doesn’t make for good TV.

    2. Your freedom is compromised. So if you’re a young adult who just got out of your parents’ house and is still enjoying that freedom, be prepared for it to go away. You don’t pick your food, so be prepared to gain weight. All your “personal” requests (birth control, etc.) are broadcast to live feeds, even if that footage doesn’t make it to air. You’re on production’s time table. House lights go on and off when they say. So if you didn’t sleep well the night before because people were loud, too bad... you’re up at 9 am anyway even though there’s nothing to do because sleeping in isn’t entertaining.

    3. Do yourself a favor and brush up on the most PC terms in use right now so you don’t say something that offends Twitter and then only learn about it three months later.

    4. I would not get in a showmance. It never ends well. Worst case scenario: you get dumped and then he moves on to your cast mate. Who you share a room with. It’s all uncomfortable and it’s all being broadcast live.

    5. I don’t care how dark it is in the room: CAMERAS ARE ALWAYS ROLLING. I know it seems like it’s too dark for them to pick up anything, but they do.

    6. Sometimes you can hear people talking about you through your mic. So that’s fun.

    7. From what I gather, there are only like two or three showers. So after those messy comps, get ready stay dirty until all sixteen of you are clean. Again: the freedom thing.

    8. BB takes place in an actual TV studio. It’s a huge space. So it’s very hard to control the temp in there. This is more of a problem for shows filmed in winter, but I also imagine it could make for a pretty stifling experience in the summer.

    9. DON’T lie during your cast interview to make yourself appear more interesting. These casting people have seen/heard it all. I can’t tell you how many rejected RW apps I saw that said some variation of the following lies: “I REALLY AM a bisexual model!” I took a girl home and it was really a guy lol” “I LOVE BEING NAKED!!!11!1!!!” Don’t run to these go-to buzzwords to make yourself appear more interesting because casting will sniff it out. They literally hear it over and over again every year. Find a truly interesting story about yourself — an unusual upbringing, an accomplishment, a cheer injury that you overcame — and run with it. Be genuine. They can tell.

    10. Be pretty. Not even gonna lie to you; it helps. To this end, I’d suggest some pink hair or something to stand out because you’re going to be competing with a lot of long-haired LA-based blondes/brunettes.

    11. Kassting (headed by Robyn Kass) is a company that does casting for BB so I’d suggest looking them up and sending your info if you’re serious.

    Good luck!

Luckily I already know about all of this. When I say I've done my research, I mean it. And I don't care about the non privacy "issue" or the "boringness" or the lack of freedom. None of that bothers me at all. Watch me put my birth control patch on my booty, keep me up all night, I don't really care.
