Anybody going to this competition? I believe all of state's teams are going.
I know Upper Merion will be there. Also, World Cup Phoenix (Easton) teams will be there.
Uh you sure about that?
We are going to WSF Philly, not Encore.
we'll be at this one too!
Oh crap! You are right! lol!
If anybody has been here before, can someone explain about the competition since its my first time there? ty
It is held in a small college basketball arena. Give yourself some extra time, because college visitations are usually the same weekend. It can get crowded. There is a parking garage available and very limited street parking (but not the best area so don't leave things in the open). They usually have a clueless staff early morning who try to limit in and outs -- by afternoon they get their act together and allow a free flow of people who want to leave for food and smokes. Very limited food and drink available early morning. There is a dunk's right outside and a couple of fast lunch choices nearby. Again, this is located at the licouras center at Temple and not downtown at the convention center. The area is not as nice and visitor friendly.
The event itself tends to be decent. Runs fairly on time and no judging biases that I recall. It usually starts of by youngest and lowest levels . Pretty sure Cp had a 7:02 performance time a couple of years ago.

I would add to mamabear's post and say-- if your Awards are not too late, I suggest taking the train (Septa) down there and back. The station is about a 10 min walk through Temple's campus to Liacouras Center. Yes, it's an urban area but I've taken it many times down there and have never felt uncomfortable. Train is easier than dealing with the traffic in and out of Philly.
You know, I agree with you. Walking around seemed fine. It was just leaving the car that made me uneasy. I felt like it was being cased as I parked it.
