The squad got their shoes a few months ago and I JUST noticed that my sister's shoes are too big. She wears a 5 and has a very narrow foot. These shoes are a 6. I've seen the entire toe curl up when her side base is trying to grab on.

My point to her is that these shoes can be dangerous if they move around. Her point is that she wants her bases to have more foot/shoe to grab onto because it makes her feel safer - so their fingers & hands are not constantly overlapping each other trying to get a hold on a tiny foot.

Can anyone give me your experience with shoes that were too small or too big and how it all worked out? I'm pullin my hair out with this girl....

Does little sis's stunt hit? Have you noticed the bases having issues?
I understand little's theory, but I don't that it would hold much water if put to the test.

    Size 5 isn't too small.
Trust me, my flyer has extremely small feet and I WISH she was a size 5.

Her bases haven't complained but jmho they would hit more often if they didn't look like they were constantly trying to find center. Everything will look perfect going up and sis is super tight, then you'll see "the lean" start. They do everything they can to fight the lean but eventually she is coming down. These are stunts they have hit many times before and I can't figure it out.... :banghead:

My old shoes were too big and while stunts still hit, they just weren't as stable as they are now. They were also the big chunky Kaepa shoes which I think played a part in it, they were like clown shoes compared to my new Nfinities! I find everything a lot easier now because I can feel my bases gripping my feet properly and everything is a lot more solid, I think a lot of that comes from having the correct fitting shoe.

Haha my cp wore 3 pair of socks with her last pair of Nfinity shoes. Since they don't come in youth half sizes she was wearing a 2 which is way too big for her. Maybe all the socks will help! ;)

I really hate it if my flyer wear shoes who are too big. I just can't give her the support i could, even if she have small foot. I prefere overlapping or a different grab (we don't do burger grabs for liberty for example. The side base grabs the main base right wrist)

A couple years ago I went the whole season with shoes fitting like hers. It was all fine and dandy until I was an alternate for the worlds team. Out stunt would not stay in the air. I ended up having to wear new shoes for Worlds to make it hit. I think it works if you stay with the same stunt because consistent bases learn how to base around it but it doesn't make you a very versatile flyer.

    Be lucky.
My Nfinities have to be special ordered because 15 and a half isn't standard sized. I frequently have to squeeze into 14s.

I would recommend that maybe she double layer socks? I know that helps a lot of flyers I've chatted to.

Thanks everyone so much!!! Sorry it took me awhile to reply but my fall semester started and I've been helping squad prepare for their athletic kickoff night - hadn't had a spare minute & I'm kinda sleep deprived. ;) Maybe I can get caught up with the holiday!
