OT Fonts!

i took a website design class like 4 years ago, and i totally forgot how to download fonts on a windows computer. can anyone help?
i dont know where to download the fonts too, i put them on my desktop i extracted the font, dragged it to the Fonts folder but nothing seems to work ! Please Help!

It shouldn't matter where you download the fonts to as long as the font file (TTC, TTF, OTF, FNY, etc) makes it into your Font folder (Control Panel>Appearence and Personalization>Fonts). Some fonts wont show up in certain programs, it depends what files the programs are designed to read.
