On March 2, 2012, multiple tornadoes, including an F4, tore through Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky, destroying just about everything in their path. The town of Henryville, Indiana was especially hard hit with both the middle school and high school completely wiped out and many homes and businesses were completely destroyed.
As the storm clouds cleared and reality set in, the people of Henryville began to rebuild. H.E.A.R.T. for Cheer stepped in to lend a hand to the cheerleaders of Henryville Jr. Sr. High School. The H.E.A.R.T. for Henryville project quickly rounded up support from individuals, families, and sponsors. GK Cheer was more than happy to be a part of the recovery effort for the cheerleaders of Henryville.
Edie Sanders, who spearheaded the effort to get the Henryville Hornets back to cheering, said, "Hello to my favorite people working for the #1 Cheer Uniform Company! GK made many dreams come true. XOXO to each and every person who helped Henryville after the tornadoes ripped through their community. You guys ROCK!"
Working with the design team and customer service at GK Cheer, the Hornets soon had brand new GK cheerleading uniforms. Made with Black
DryTech fabric, their new cheer top is GK's Classic V Neck Cheer Tank CB126, a full length cheerleading uniform tank with classic styling and binding trim. The framed front chest stripe is great for embellishing as the Hornets did here with sequinz. Their matching Black DryTech skirt is a Regular Rise Cheer Skirt CB701 with built-in boy cut briefs.
The best part of this GK cheer uniform? The smiles on the faces of the Henryville Cheerleaders after many months of uncertainty and sorrow.
