I have some coaches that cheered for school and are great coaches but have no experience in stunting. We are primarily an all star gym so stunting is a must. Does anyone have any resources or suggestions for helping these new to stunting cheer coaches?

First thing I would suggest you do:
1. Go over the safety rules with them. Show visual representation as you are going over these rules of what is legal vs. illegal. Right away they then understand the basic big safety no-no's (i.e flipping basket tosses/ 2-2-1 pyramids outside of college, 360+ degree helicopter tosses, etc etc etc.) to have a great foundation to start with.

2.Have them read/research about the mechanics of stunting (Mental preparation). Things such as stunt names, positions, common problems others have when learning the stunt, etc. can all be studied before going into the gym. The more they read in preparation, the better mindset they will have to comprehend what is needed during the stunt when trying to physically learn the mechanics first hand.

3. Have them step in for hands on instruction (physical prep) . Whether you have a coach and 1 seasoned stunt group to explain stunt technique and progression first hand to the new coaches, or you set up a coaches clinic through NCA/UCA/Whoever to demonstrate and get them that experience, they need time to really understand each stunting role from the athlete's perspective before they can teach. It is very different watching a stunt on a video & knowing the mechanics of it first hand.

As far as mental prep.......
Here are some resources for them to look over as a general idea of the basic mechanics of stunting/drills. This 100% needs to be paired with hands on experience as well via classes & instruction however! They should not be teaching anyone how to do any stunt until they have mastered all the mechanics (for the safety & future health of all the individuals at your program). Ideally it would also be great to look into classes/certification via usasf :

An app called Skilz On Demand is a great resource to have at your fingertips on a tablet or smartphone. Esp if u don't have a signal at your practice location. Most components of the app are relatively inexpensive (approx $3). Very clear instruction on the mechanics of a stunt
