How Do You Pay For Worlds?

We do an auction (every athlete is required to bring in an item/gift certificate, etc) and it brings in $3000-4000.
Our gym also makes bracelets and t-shirts which it sells at cost to the athletes who can then sell them for profit.
Other ideas: casino nights, movie nights at the gym, bagging in a grocery store, finding sponsors (whose logo you can add to your worlds shirts or bags), bake sales, special open gyms where your level 5 athletes act as mentors or run workshops for the younger kids

I was thinking about doing something like. I know the Worlds teams did that last year and I was thinking maybe all the teams in WA (or at least the east side of the state) going to Worlds and Summit could get together like a weekend or two before Worlds to do a send-off exhibition with admission.
I love that! I know South, Connect and another gym (can't think of the name) did that for Worlds. I was gonna go but totally forgot :(

Eastern Washington elite had their dance team and force from tri-cities was also there I think... I didn't make it either but I want to try to go this year. Diamonds have been looking good =)

Bringing this back....

PM me? We just recently got an at-large bid to the Summit and we thought the parents would say no way after getting a break down of the costs... they wanna go for it but it will be approximately $1700 per athlete (including one parent) to get over there. Luckily we only have 8 kids on our team so it isn't a huge team needing to each raise that amount but that still adds up to almost $14,000. We're talking about doing a "nationals send-off" and charging admission as well as a spaghetti feed with admission, silent auction, and a raffle but those are probably only going to net a few hundred dollars each I'm guessing. Our gym has 57 athletes so we don't have a BIG gym full of athletes to help sponser us.

The high school team I coached last year did a spaghetti dinner - we had all of the food, plates, etc donated, charged $10/adult and $5/kid, had a raffle for something (tickets to a pro basketball game, I think?). The team made over $5000 for three hours of work.

Any individual fundraiser ideas? I don't think our gym is not going to do much for team fundraising because they got a paid bid, but I need some help getting hubby, son, and me there. We are doing the scratch tickets and on Sat. the cp and I went door to door with candy bars. I have made $216 so far and have $1484 to go and am running out of time.

We used to do a Brochure fundraiser...it may take a little time to put together but it brings in a good amount of money if done well.

You put together a brochure type book with pictures of your cp or their team and then list their accomplishments of the year. Maybe even list information about the gym and the program. Lots of pictures and colors helps a lot! Usually if you get the brochures printed in a larger quantity they are cheaper or you can print them yourself depending on your printer. You will also want to include a letter written from your cp. This is the most important part. You want them to tell the person why they would like them to sponsor your CP and why it would mean so much to them; put where their going, when, the cost, etc. Then you would actually ask them for a donation.

I know it may sound crazy to come people but you would then send these brochures to business', stores, local companies, etc. The more Local the business is the better because its a better chance they will donate to you because they will have heard of the gym or perhaps your child/family.

Make sure to put where to send the money or check (who to make it out too), and when would be an appropriate date to have it by. In the past I know people who have gotten anywhere from $500-$1500+ by doing these.

Remember its all in the presentation!!

-Good Luck!!!

I LOVE this. By chance would you know what company was used to make the brochures? Thanks!!

Sorry for the delayed response, I think one of the parents did it themselves....if you're familiar with powerpoint, office, or even word it would be possible. But I think Kinkos might do a service like this or a printing company like them.
