I know, getting older, a tough coach is almost a necessity. The girls we're putting in the air aren't necessarily "light" anymore. They're still just over 100 pounds, but in relation, it's a lot of weight. To be lifting, throwing, and catching teenage girls repeatedly, you have to be able to have proper technique, or someone is going to get hurt. I know, personally, I have a very close relationship with my cheer squad, and more particularly, my Stunt Group. Being this close to them, helps me make sure the flyer is safe. I would never let my flyer hit the ground, even if that meant sacrificing myself hitting the ground to catch her. I'd rather have me(170 pounds, 5'7'') than my flyer(110 maybe, 5'2'') fall. I feel like she'd shatter.
