When in doubt, send a video to [email protected], they'll answer "Legal" or "Illegal".

It is both legal and illegal. It really depends on how the flyer is being spotted. My CP is on a Mini Level 1 team and they have 2 as part of their pyramid---it is legal because they have someone holding her feet, holding her hands, and someone directly under her holding up her back. Without that middle person, the stunt would be illegal.

To clarify, stunts are either legal or illegal. Some things are always illegal (for example, BHS in level 1), while other things might be legal or illegal, depending on how they are performed. What you describe is one way of possibly making the skill legal. There are many ways that this skill can be legal (or illegal) depending on how it is performed (and I can think of at least two ways to make the skill you described illegal, as described, depending on performance, lol) . As stated above, the only way to get an OFFICIAL answer is to email a video to USASF. Anything stated here or any other social media platform is not valid proof of legality :)
