Ok, this is my first official thread and it's not even cheer related. I hope it's alright to post something like this - if not Shark Dad can delete it, ban me, and shame me publically. LOL!

But just in case I don't get flogged... my son plays football and the moms rotate feeding the boys on Fridays before the games. I'm looking for some recipes that I can double or even triple to feed a large group. If you have that special dish that everyone raves about (and I will give full credit to you! lol) please post.
And not to be too picky, but I'm no chef and I prefer something with less than 10 ingredients and no rare ingredient that I have to drive down the L.A. to find. :p
Thanks in advance for any help!

And I promise my next post will be about cheer. :cheering:

According to my HS Senior, who played varsity football, here are his favorite home-made pre-game meals...

Baked Mac and Cheese w/ ham (recipe to follow - takes a little effort, but SO GOOD and worth it!)
Chicken pot-pie (one of the other moms made it, and the guys loved it.)
Baked beans
Meatballs
Salads (Chicken Caesar, especially)

Baked Macaroni and Cheese Recipe : Alton Brown : Recipes : Food Network

Baked Macaroni and Cheese - Alton Brown (we added diced, cooked ham before putting it into the casserole dish.)

Ingredients
1/2 pound elbow macaroni
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon powdered mustard
3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg
12 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
Topping:
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup panko bread crumbs
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it's free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf.

Temper in the egg. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.

Melt the butter in a saute pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and rest for five minutes before serving.

My varsity high school players all but demand Mac and cheese! A definite winner!

Spaghetti is easy too! Carbs. Brown some ground beef with some big jars of Ragu. That one is on the menu for feeding college baseball players this summer. Salad, spaghetti and garlic bread.

I have an easy meatball recipe that is great for a crowd of boys and can be easily doubled or tripled:

1 package frozen Italian style meatballs
1 jar traditional flavor Ragu spaghetti sauce (at first it won't look like enough sauce, but it will be once it heats up)
1 cup sugar (looks and sounds like a lot, but tastes great - trust me!)

Heat through over medium heat and simmer about 20 minutes. Or, after its heated, pour into a crock pot on low to keep warm. These are great as an appetizer or serve with hoagie rolls for meatball sandwiches.

I will definitely try both of these! Thank you!

My old HS varsity team had a spaghetti dinner every Thursday night before a game.

Try a pasta salad! My mom makes it with the colorful noodles, spinach, chicken and bacon in it and my football/lacrosse playing brother eats pretty much the whole entire thing :p You can also let them put whatever dressing they want on it! I put ranch, my brother puts Alfredo sauce
