Why don't you contact local schools and gyms an let them know that if they are going to sell their mats you'd be interested in purchasing them at a discount. Sure they'd be older but at least it would save money and keep you guys practicing till you can find money for new ones.

Athletic tape on the gym floor? And place panel mats where the stunts will be! I coached a middle school team with only panel mats for 4 years. I always told the kids if they were a line or a space. Then the formations were always correct if they knew what row they were in.
