Are USASF member gyms allowed to host competitions? That are staffed by judges affiliated with their gym?
The gyms athletes/teams also competed. I was at one such event yesterday. Just felt so wrong on so many levels....

Is this even legal???

I do not believe there are any rules against it, but can see where a conflict of interest could be perceived. I think @RulesGuy or @Andre might be the best two gentleman to answer this for you.

I'm not aware of anything that says they can't.

my gym hosts a competition, and our teams perform but we are all exhibition teams. our coaches do not judge either.
