What are some examples? Provide context if necessary.
I don’t know if this qualifies as shady, but it sure is a gem.

there used to be a tonnnn.
there was the whole bsb/SMOED
“100% pure Florida” & “straight out of Cali, maybe. Straight out of your town, yes. They move across the country cause they know that we the best” & “100% gold”
SOT Royalty 15/16- “world champ, I gotta be. #2 ain't made for me. you ain't no celebrity, I'm the world famous royalty.” @ece
In 2014 SE had a lottt of “4” references, orange had a voiceover that said “so you wanna do math? what’s 4x2?”
CA aces 14/15 had “check your local station, don’t get it twisted. You will get aced” @f5
Beatles 17 had the “who wears purple better” @SOT
SE had “your lips are dry, your hair is fried your makeup is running” after shooting stars had “it’s about the hair, the style, the makeup” in 2009
I love a lil shade in music
TGLC 2010 is one of my favs.
I never noticed that the "So you wanna do math" voiceover was towards SE, I love it.
Panthers had "Look up the stars are fading" in 2008 @ Shooting Stars
but then got 7th at Worlds and Stars won so yikes.
Stingrays Orange 2013 had "Let the whole Earth witness" in an Australian accent @ Steve Irwin... savage.
And then always the F5 hater mix is gold, even after 10+ years.
This is the opposite of shade but I loved the 2012 season when Stingrays Green had a couple athletes who moved from Twist & Shout J5 and IIRC, the girls really missed their old team. So that year, Stingrays danced to "Stars on 45" which had the line "Remember twist and shout" and they did the T&S clap and then T&S J5 danced to "Mean Green Mother from Outer Space". It was so so so cute.
but was the 4 x 2 really a dig at SE, i mean in 2014 orange was trying to earn their 8th worlds win that year, so the voiceover makes sense. plus i think they had the math voiceover in their music since it was first released at the beginning of that season.
Plus there’s not really a lot of ways to calculate the number 8.
“Two cubed” or “two times two times two” or “the square root of sixty-four” doesn’t quite have the same ring...

I started cheering in 2007 and dont remember the f5 hater mix. What year?
maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. I’m quite confident that SE’s music came out first cause I remember hearing orange and it jumping out immediately. Yes they were going for 8 but what does 4 have to do with that whatsoever
I still wonder what was “Don’t let the Prada fool ya” all about in Stars mix?
Ohhhh and se 2009
Amateur can copy but they will never stop me 15 years to make this and you will never break this.
It wasn't their routine music. Actually, I'm not sure if it even came from MDT or if it was made by a fan.
ETA: I'm pretty sure I could still quote most of it. The hater mix was the shadiest, meanest mix of them all.
"Kitties belong in a litter box."
"Look up the Stars are fading..."
"Count my 3 jackets b*****"
I never really liked SE’s mixes and the ballad-y parts that CSP uses to frame the elites. Too slow and a bit misplaced for me. Until I rewatched their routines recently and realized the genius behind it.
Those portions of the mixes are hugely singable, unlike everyone else’s mixes which are almost entirely hip hop. So when SE is performing, they’ve got (what sounds like) an entire arena singing their own music back at them in part because it’s so easy due to the singsong nature of the mix. Well played, CSP.
Ngl I unironically love this mix. I don't love the gym or the situation but this mix slaps.
