Standing Bhs/ Mental Block Help

I have been training my bhs for about a year (since Nov 2011). In August '12, my coach said to start doing my bhs by myself on floor a week before 1st comp. But at this comp, I freaked out and landed on my head.

Jump to November, AASCF Nationals 2012 Routine Warmup. I can suddenly do my bhs which I hadn't done by myself since August. I go on, compete my skill, but with poor execution i.e bent legs, legs apart.

So here's my major problem/ question. I can do my bhs, on any surface (comp floor, tramp) except for my gym's sprung floor unless I have a spotter. Why is this? Any tips on overcoming this block? Also, how can I make my bhs neater? I'm 5"9 so I feel it's difficult for me to be clean.
