Exciting Summit News!

In response to customer feedback, Varsity All Star will now be offering Wild Card Bids at select 1-day championships throughout the 2014-2015 competition season. These Wild Card Bids give Junior and Senior teams the chance to earn their way into The Summit. The Wild Card round of The Summit will take place Friday, May 1st at the Walt Disney World Resort® in Orlando, FL. All teams who place 1st in their division in Friday's Prelims will advance to Saturday's Semifinals.

so 220 more spaces for teams? and you only have to do a one day comp versus a 2 day travel comp... may not be the big news everyone was hoping for, but i'd say thats a positive.

OMG yes! It's crazy. So few opportunities up here. Other than Tacoma, Portland and Sea to Sky, right? Am I missing one?

I'm trying to remember which local gyms attend UCA in Tacoma. Not all, right???

It's a interesting idea but I forsee a lot of these going unused.

You have to travel all the way to Orlando and place first in your division just to move on to Semis

So basically they just added prelims to the Summit with even less of a chance of advancing to semis?

You're lucky! We only have one more opportunity and its a travel comp (and we are actually in that same city the weekend before for another Summit bid comp).

Wildcard teams have to come in 1st to advance...not liking that

Wildcard teams are no longer eligible for at large bids, only paids...not liking that

Wildcard bids won't be passed down...I'm ok with that

Wildcard bids only for junior and senior...not liking that.
