I was one that said I hated that some level 5 teams had to go on so early. I understand that kids on lower level teams have to work just as hard for their skills. I personally think level 1/exhibition teams should go on first in all the competition halls because, regardless of what anyone says, round offs and back walkovers DO NOT require as much focus and energy to perform, nor do preps and thigh stands. I'm not dissing that level, but it would be much more understandable for those skills to be thrown when one is still half asleep.
And as far as "school age" kids being able to compete that early, my CP had to get up at 5:00am both days. She doesn't get up for school until 6:30am. And she doesn't get to school at 8:00am and have to perform very dangerous skills. Don't get me wrong, she hit all of her stuff both days, but I worry about the "what if's". I am very proud of all the youth and junior aged kids who had to pull this off, and I am ESPECIALLY proud of Cali Sm. Jr. Coed for pulling it off when they were 2 hours ahead of their normal body clock schedule!!! However, I do wonder if that had anything to do with their pyramid going down on day 2. I'm sure no one would blame it on that, but I will always wonder if that was a factor.
I will never been in favor of ANY level 5 team having to wake up at 5:00am and compete so early. I know it happens at Jamfest Super and Worlds as well, but I would really like to see this fixed somehow...
