What's A Shimmy?

Sorry, I am obviously REALLY showing my ignorance here, but I have received 3 shimmies and I really don't know what they are. I am presuming that they are higher up the food chain than a "like" for a posting. (In which case, thanks for them.) How do I return the favor if I see a posting I strongly like/approve of/ appreciate?

Yup, it's just like a "like" on facebook! Under ever post in the bottom right corner there is a Shimmy button that you can click to "return the favor" next to the Reply button!
