I'm starting my second year in university next week and hopefully I'll be double majoring in criminology and sociology if things go as planned and since Gaelic language is a two part course each year my minor will be in Irish studies

BS - double major in Biology and Mathematics
Minor - Business Finance, which only means I've taken at least 4 courses in this area
MLS- Library Science
MS - Teacher for Students with Disability with a focus in Learning Disabilities - Special Education

Worked many years as an Academic Librarian and then grew tired of that kind of work, and switched to be a Research Specialist at a Financial Institute near the WTC (I was responsible for providing research for Investment Bankers in the areas of Science, Pharmaceutical and Technology). I decided to shift gears again and teach after 9/11 scared the crap out of me.
Now -
I have been teaching Math/Science for the last 10+ years at an Urban MS and love it...

PS: At one time, I wanted to go into Healthcare Administration

I have my Masters in Library and Information Science!

I was an academic librarian for two years, now I've been an youth services librarian for 2 years and after this year I'll probably switch to a school library or leave the profession entirely

Im jealous of anyone majoring in journalism, and public relations..... my heart was always set on majoring in journalism or public relations, or doing photography and then joining the military and using it for that. but no, i major in the only thing i ever got a good grade in my entire life.... oh well.

What are your plans if you leave the profession?
To be honest, I never grew up wanting to be a librarian, but I find life throws you a curve. Like I said earlier, I wanted to go into Healthcare Admin./run a hospital, etc... But what happened I applied for an Accounting position at a college to pay my tuition while I continued my studies and the Director of the Library plucked my resume out of a bunch and decided to hire me to work as a Circulation Mgr. and later promoted me to Librarian while I was still going to school. After abruptly leaving NYC, I worked as a School Librarian to make money and the school district sent me to school for the MS degree because they needed Spec. Ed. teachers with Math/Science background. I have to say, the MLS degree have opened many doors for me and if you decide to go the school library direction make sure you have a good foundation in the new technology and Internet researching, many schools are moving away from books.

my undergraduate degree is a bachelor of science, my major is athletic training. I was a dual major with Spanish, which I had to drop to a minor and then ended up dropping completely because I didn't have enough time to complete it, and I am completely kicking myself for it because I wanted to have it to say I'm bilingual. It would open up the job market immensely for me. I can never make up my mind what I want to do with my life, so my plan is to keep adding letters until I figure it out lol I am currently debating sitting for my CSCS exam and/or my OTC exam because my undergraduate degree makes me eligible for both. At one point I kicked around volunteering for teach for america so I could get them to pay for my masters because I would love to teach, but only athletic training courses, so I kind of backed off that idea because I didn't know if it would work out that way. I also kicked around getting my masters in sports psychology, but that kind of got put on the back burner as well. As of now, my current game plan is to go back to school next fall to get my masters in AT with a GA position (so its all for free) so I can take the rest of my pre-req courses to go back and get my masters in physicians assistant studies. I really contemplated med school but at the end of the day a lot of the stuff that I don't enjoy about AT would also be an issue as an MD (mostly the hours) plus I didn't want to go to school for that long, so I decided PA was my best option. This is my plan and I'm sticking to it lol
