I've been coaching competitive Youth/Rec teams for about 8 years and I just started my own non-profit organization and I was wondering where we post about Rec teams. There's a section for High School, College and All-Star, but nothing at the Youth level.

I would go with the High School Section, which has pretty much come to encompass all school related cheerleaders

Rec usually isn't for a school. I'd post in Allstar - it is the most frequented board (and there are lots of rec coaches there, as a lot of older allstar cheerleaders coach rec teams). Especially if you're posting about the competitive aspect of rec cheer - it would fit right in, in most cases. Just label your posts accordingly and you should be fine.

ETA - I've been a rec coach forever (as well as a HS coach) and I hang out in Allstar :)

I was wondering this as well, rec programs have grown so much in the last ten years it's not even funny. Is there anyway we can get a rec subforum (like the all stars one or H) in the future?

I support this idea. While it might not be as popular as the All-Star or HS board, I think it would be helpful.

I am sure kingston would be willing to start a rec sub forum under the Cheer section if there is interest. I would be interested to read about it.

There is already one in the parent section so you are welcome to post there if you have access

I will create a Rec subforum and see how much traffic it generates. If it is decent we will keep it around.

I thought school teams were a completely different category. Rec teams around here are either independent non-profits or cheer for a football team not linked to a school.

We don't have Pop Warner/AYC here. We have Chesterfield Cheering League. Every elementary school has it's own football and cheer team, so not technically run through the school, but we receive flyers and hand outs at school. It's not run through the public school system, but kids will tell you "I cheer for my school"

Ohh okay, yeah we have something kind of like that out here, they don't compete though.

There is now a Rec Cheerleading Forum. Feel free to go for it.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have questions about competitive rec cheer.
