Thats a little different though. Junior teams could only get at large bids, so the circumstances were a bit different.
And CA Jags 06-World Champs, and one of my favorite routines ever. At large bid!

I don't think your bid status has any effect on the results. I do think that generally, the strongest teams tend to have paid bids, but that is a result, not a cause, of their ability to score high at competitions. (They don't score high because they have a paid bid, they have a paid bid because they tend to score high.)
