Some of these athletes are 12 years old. So do I blame them for posting stupid things, no, I blame their parents for not teaching them respect and not taking the time to teach them on being responsible on social media. The older ones, yes by all means they should know better.
My kids are 17 and 14 (twins). They talk about stuff and I don't follow all their social media, but if one of them posts something questionable, you can bet her sister(s) will call her out on it and it will get edited or deleted.

Well I am not making a point to call out only one team. I will gladly call out any teams bad behavior. I don't go on twitter looking for it so the only teams bad behavior I have seen are from what people have posted here about which has sadly only been one team.

My whole point in the matter is that we shouldn't defend it by saying "well they are just kids" or "so and so did something worse". I didn't mean it to seem like I was attacking Smoed so I apologize. They were just the only ones talked about, and continue to be the only ones talked about on here so they are the only ones I have knowledge of.
Herein lies the perpetuated myth that Cali has these horrible uncontrollable social media mongrels that spend their days spreading hate into the world. That is ridiculous. I agree that wrong is wrong and we should hold our kids accountable. All of our kids, not just Cali's kids.

And before throwing shade or jumping to conclusions check out the truth for yourself. There's a lot of heresay around. You could find yourself a pawn involved in a misdirected anti-Cali campaign and not even realize it.

As a parent, who has somewhat begrudgingly grown to love cheer, I'll say this...I love watching teams compete. It gives me chills when I think of all the great accomplishments, it makes me cry when I feel the disappointments. There is something so noble about putting a routine together and performing it, and I admire the drive and athleticism of all these athletes and the passion of their supporters.

This sport has some struggles, there is an opaque scoring system, a monopoly to contend with and a definite for profit feel to the industry. Parents, fans and athletes behave poorly sometimes. I'm okay with, to some degree. It's the nature of competition, people behave badly, it is what it is. But for people to behave badly in public, and expect not to have some consequence for it is silly to me. You felt strongly enough to put yourself out there, if it's dramatic drama will ensue. As an observer, I do have teams I don't care for. Sometimes this is based completely on the public image a team has. Not fair in some ways, I suppose, but true. I have also had times where I was not happy with people at my CPS' gym(s) for the same reason. You better believe that if I think you make their gym look bad, I am likely to express my opinion. I am capable of contextualizing, so can sometimes get why people act the way they do, but I won't make or buy excuses. If you mess up, own it and move on,

I am never okay with coaches or owners behaving badly. They get paid, they austensibly have some sort of certification to get paid for what they do, so they have to earn respect. They should take that seriously. I didn't see or hear of examples of coaches or owners behaving negatively for worlds, so this makes me happy. I do have a tendency to judge programs that are known for their negativity though. I can respect talent, but hate entitlement. The beauty of this sport is that it takes so many hearts to win. You might want it. You might have excellent coaches, or facilities or choreographers, etc., but it's the kids out there making it happen. If you don't respect the competition, then you lose something even if you win.

Just got off work to see the results!

I hate to say that I'm really not surprised smoed acted like that towards BSB. I feel like they always have something to say, win or lose, and it always causes drama.

I'm really sad that wildcats didn't win :( I really wanna see a video and scoresheet bc I'm curious!!

Really happy for ECE C5 it's always so exciting seeing a first time world champion win!!

Overall, this was a very memorable weekend...and there were so many issues, with people getting hurt, scores not going out, people not knowing the placements, drama with finals scores, and everything under the sun.

Wouldn't want to have spent this weekend with any other group of people than you fierceboarders :)

So now the question starts....who will win worlds 2016 (*sarcasm*) :)

Didn't I just apologize for seeming like I was picking on Cali when in reality I don't like this behavior from anyone?

I guess there is no winning with you so I will stop replying.

I feel like we should make a bingo card for the most likely comments. It'd be great entertainment.

Make it into a shot glass game for the adults ;p

Because apparently no one read my post about me losing my last remaining marbles.

I lost mine last night...

I love it when it comes down to execution and difficulty---top 3 are all so close, but .13 separating 1 & 2 is WOW!

Any chance you know of a scoresheet for SMSRCOED5?

So for those of us saying "now what."
Fun thing to do if you are on a computer is to go to the top and click the last page of threads and read some from 2010. It was like a different world and oddly still the exact same too. :D
