My friends and I were discussing this while going through snapchats of other friends still in school. I don't know how people did it. Especially the ones who went out all three nights in a row. We went out for one night and it took a solid week of preparation and will take about a week to decompress.
All 3 nights? I know some kids that had 3 costumes in 1 night.

**Tell me another fairy tale Mommy, I like it when strangers tell you how awesome I am**

Just wanted to throw out there that we had 1,100 trick or treaters this year and that was 54 less than last year! It was raining a fair amount but it didn't keep too many people away! I will say it was annoying having people start so early this year - 4pm is WAY too early for trick or treating! We weren't set up at all and I felt like I was running behind all night. I do LOVE Halloween in our neighborhood. We decorate our front yards/doors/houses, similar to Christmas and hire the police to shut down the two entrances to our neighborhood so that it is safe for the kids and families to walk around. It's a lot of fun and I really love to see all the happy faces! We will give candy to everyone, but the unwritten rule is that they need to have some sort of costume and they have to say trick or treat! My daughter (CP) says that she will trick or treat until she graduates from high school. Luckily she has her little brother to use as an excuse. He has Aspergers and needs a chaperone so she has happily volunteered to take that job for as long as necessary! Now...onto Thanksgiving!!

That's incredible. We do not get any. We don't even buy candy. We live at the end of a long dead end street and there aren't many young kids on the block. Ever since we moved here 14 years ago we have always gone to one of my kid's friends neighborhoods. Fortunately each one has had a friend in a different prime t-o-t area where there were many kids out and about and the houses were enough together that it made it fun for them.

I grew up in an apartment building and Halloween was always great. You never had to worry about the weather and we would just work our way through the entire building from top to bottom.

Oh man, my birthday falls on "Stay At Home Because You Are Well" day. I wish that were true!!

Bomb threat in our schools today. Apparently, some people are not happy with teachers negociating for better work conditions. They were on strike one day in October and will be for two days in November. They wrote a letter (grammar nazis would cry) saying that if the teacher don't end their strike, they will do for them. They promised four days of chaos, calling it the Four Days of Death, starting today. They said the put one bomb in a elementary school, one in a secondary school, one in a Cegep and two in busses. And THEY SAY THAT THEY DO THAT BECAUSE OF THE HORRIFIC THING THE TEACHERS ARE DOING TO CHILDREN. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Terrorism against teacher. I'm ashamed of my province.

I could have written this--except the last paragraph. I don't even buy candy. I had packs of Halloween fruit snacks that I had bought for my kids in the event we had a visitor!

Is it 1970 again in Quebec?

I just found out my dad fainted tonight, and I don't mean a small dizzy spell. He's been brought to the hospital in an ambulance and my mom went a bit later (they told her to wait because it was no use going right away just to stay in the waiting room for an hour). As far as I know he was feeling slightly better when the paramedics came and took him, but the way he was when my mom found him sounds a lot like a stroke... Obviously I hope that's not it but there's no diagnosis yet. So now we (my sisters and I) are waiting for my mom to give us news but it could take a while. At first, she even told us to go to bed and turn off our phones... Like we would be in the mood to sleep right now. Anyway, any and all positives thoughts would be very appreciated right now!

ETA : My mum just sent word (sooner than I thought!) that he felt better and was looking like himself again, so that's great ! He's under observation right now and they'll probably do a bunch of tests tomorrow but I'm so relieved right now !

Instagram star Essena O'Neill: Social media is not real - CNN.com

semi interesting read figured id share since its gaining so much attention now. But im gonna be a little critical of this girl simply because she is still making youtube/vimeo videos and has a very active blog. Like if your going to cry on camera about quitting social media, then maybe you should actually follow through. By continuing to film videos and write long blog posts about social media being a lie and fake its just a little odd.
Apparently she is trying to get a self help book deal as well with all the attention she is now receiving. Asking people for money to support what you call a "life changing project" makes it even more shady.

Humble brag complaining. Nothing about her tale seemed genuine. I skimmed her captions last night and it said stuff like "I wish I knew how white privileged I was at the time " or something to that effect. Girl bye. You're just jumping on the bandwagon of trends in social movement. Have several seats.
