Not relevant to CEA or their gazillion gyms, but this thread did have me thinking: aside from Cali what other gyms have won worlds or place top with a team that is not from their main location? TG is another that comes to mind, and of course ssx.

ICE back when they had worlds teams at their Mishawaka location. (speaking of lol)

I wouldn't necessarily believe a whole team is leaving ICE if it got posted on Twitter,people tend to exaggerate when they post things.

I agree that the timing is strange, but we don't know what goes on behind closed doors... until someone posts it to twitter....

But, I'm guessing that this has been talked about between CEA and the new coach for a while. You don't just call a program like "Hey, can I open a gym here? Great, tomorrow works well? Perfect, it's all done, we'll be ready by competition X."

Additionally re: leaving a coaching position midseason:

Unless you have a contract (e.g. teachers and such) you can leave any job with 2 weeks, 30 days, etc. notice (whatever amount of notice they outlined when you were hired.)

It's no good for the kids, but it's allowed.

Yes.

I am willing to bet good money that an entire team of maybe 20-30 did not just leave a gym.

Everything is exaggerated.

In reality, it is probably 5 kids max.

Honestly, I'm surprised Cheer Social Media Land isn't reporting:

"CEA opens new gym in Chicago. CEA owners leave snacks in the grass to lead entire R5 team to private teal jet to new location."

Of course it's allowed. But to leave mid-season and then a few weeks later announce you're opening the next branch of a mega gym not far from your old gym? It's shady. Sorry.

There definitely is a lot more to the story. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors, and we can't prove that she just picked up and left a program she has been coaching at for years. There's more information regarding this situation that I am sure some of us will never know. Best of luck to CEA IL

IMO, CEA's satellite gyms don't seem to be that strong. I think the "weakening of their brand" argument is valid in this situation. I can't say I am ever amazed by their satellite teams that aren't their more known teams. And I don't see CEA as a strong program because of their satellite gyms. Senior Elite is strong, Coed elite is strong, their "Elite" teams individually are strong. But as a program I don't think they're that strong.

And I thank you! How about not even a few weeks later but within hours of not LEAVING on your own but actually being TERMINATED with due cause. How is it possible to be the head of a mega gym brand expansion that didn't currently exist in your state within hours of being released from your old position without one plotting this well before hand the whole time?

It seems to me like the sunshine and flowers disposition on surface that some are completely blinded by is not the real behavior that happens behind closed doors. Sounds just like someone else we know. WOW!
