I don't follow many athletes on twitter, but I have yet to see any shade thrown at F5 - in fact I see many people congratulating them and commending them for hitting when they needed to. In fact the only thing I have seen that has been out of line is one Twisters parent (I am assuming) making a complete idiot out of himself with what sounds like steroid induced tirades. I see a lot of complaints about the conditions during large all girl and IMO, they have every right to complain. Nothing gets fixed if everyone buries their heads in the sand and is afraid to speak out about it.
i havent seen shade specifically thrown at f5, but ive seen a lot of.. "i shouldve won worlds, but usasf robbed us", ive also seen things about "we should riot". along with multiple videos of the wet sidelines with the words heartbroken, robbed, etc.

Again I say someone should of stopped it. USASF, Judges, Spotters, Coaches, Athletes, Parents, Disney...somebody! There is no way that it was wet only on the boarders and not on the floor as well.

While ill agree with the conditions a lot of those pass fell because they rebounded onto the red not the blue part. Still sketchy and un acceptable due to usasf, but i dont think that was physocally due to the blue mat being wet.
Did any coaches contest scores that night?

Welp... say no more.... the floor was in fact WET and I 100% believe it after this video. These kids have been training all season to put on the best performances at this event. You cannot tell me that they all magically developed butter fingers and could not execute because they weren't prepared. I feel so bad. Out of 20 teams only 1 team received 0 deductions compared to the several teams that hit in medium and small all girl and coed on monday... hmmm here is why

My issue is not the falls. My only focus is safety. My issue is do we really believe that the red was the only thing wet? The red and the black but not the blue? That I think is a stretch. I am not saying it was a swimming pool either. Moisture on the landing surface affects tumbling and stunting

I mean there's no reason why the rep part should be wet either. The red isn't out of bounds so a lot of the time people land there. Additional the blue mats being wet could contribute to some slippery shoes in people's hands. Does usasf want people to practice wetting their shoes and doing stunts now?

I haven't been on FierceBoard for a while. I finally logged back on because of what is being discussed on this thread. I watched worlds online. My heart aches for all of the athletes that worked SO hard to make it to finals and then compete on a wet floor which hinders their performance. All of the teams did amazing and are winners in my eyes.
I hope USASF releases a statement in regards to this sometime soon. The spotters knew about the conditions. They should of said something too!
Thank god there was no serious injuries.

Just move large senior large coed back to early mornings, it would probably solve quite a few problems.
To be honest i dont know why they ever changed that to begin with, considering they did that to try and fix the whole over crowding issue.

The venue is just too small. Every year it was overcrowded. IIRC there were also complaints about having those teams compete early in the am as well, saying their bodies had not "woken up yet" since most all practice in the evening or night. Except for being with my team, I would literally go in the am and stay all day in the same spot just so I wouldn't lose my seat when the divisions/teams I wanted to see came on.

The stadium idea was a great plan to try to help relieve overcrowding but terrible execution #deductionsfordays

I would be shocked if USASF actually released some kind of statement about the whole mess [emoji849]

I didnt call out anyone specfic, i said cea as a whole (coaches, fans, athletes) have displayed some not so pretty commentary about the way placements went, etc.
And yes i do think its bad sportsmanship. To say im happy f5 won, but then two seconds later post about how you were robbed, in my mind is bad sportsmanship.

Well, there isn't a deduction for landing on the red part of the mat. Landing on the red, slipping and catching yourself with your hands could (and did) lead to deductions. That's a situation out of their control. I'm not on board with the whole "OMG IT WAS A SWIMMING POOL" either, but the red part was clearly a big issue.
