a lot of smos are posting over social media and their comments are not appropriate either. i realize they're "just teenagers" but they are acting totally inappropriate and its disappointing.

This is probably one of those coaching situations where you might have to seriously go in and say "Jenee is gone. There's been enough said about. Next person I see posting about it is OFF the team."

Harsh, but you can bet they'd be done with it. Sometimes kids need to be told explicitly that what they're doing is not ok.

I once had a girl leave my J3 team (I coached it for 2 seasons.) Instagram was not popular then but there were plenty of mean, cryptic statuses about it. Had to come in and send a message that it's got to stop.

Here's my one question, since I've not really been following this and don't feel like stalking twitter or here for the answer- but I thought SE had several "extras" to account for possible injuries, etc that might occur throughout the year? I'm certain that was discussed on here a while back (like showcase maybe as to why they had so many girls on the floor?)

We have 1 alternate right now and she's not a flyer. Our extra flyer went in when Taylor moved.

Doesn't SE have like 40 girls on the team? Sucks to be one of the girls who have worked with the team all year but not competed, and then get looked over to fill the spot of the girl quitting.

We're down to 1 alternate and she doesn't fly. Everyone else has been placed on other teams.

I wish Jenee all the best! Moving across country sucks, but I know she and her family have a strong faith and will land on their feet with a lot of folks cheering them on. I'll definitely miss seeing her on Cheerleaders. Does anyone know who is flying in her spot? So sad to not see the Smoetwins anymore.
a girl named Payton or Peyton is. she was on Snipers and is now filling in on smoed.

pittsburgh poison is comin through your area, causin mass hysteria!

@Just-a-Mom I was about to post something similar!

If people have not experienced bullying first hand or have not had it happen to their child, you cannot possibly know the frustration and overwhelming nature of it.

Posting on social media isn't something that I would do, but I understand her desire to let her story be known. Maybe other gyms will be wary of welcoming families like that, but maybe gyms should be more wary of bullying in the first place.

I wasn't there, but I know what it feels like to try to discuss a bullying situation only to be belittled and dismissed.

...i was going to say something but i shall refrain

I know I'm alone in this, but my mama bear is coming out. Not appropriate? Yes, I'll agree. But would I do the exact same thing? Yep - probably worse.

I can only imagine how upsetting it is to feel like your child is basically being abused and bullied by someone who is supposed to uplift them... Only to have it presented to everyone as this Pollyanna situation where you just moved on and conveniently just in time for the cheerleb of the week to take your spot? No. I'd want the truth (or at least my side) out too. When it comes to my kids I have no interest in whether other people that don't even know me think I'm being mature or appropriate. If you bully or hurt my child, my snarky, gossipy Instagram posts will be the least of your worries.

This is not the first ex-cea person I've heard this from. It can't all be sour grapes. Once is probably disgruntled Susie's mom. Twice I'm curious. Three or more people? I'm starting to think there's some truth to it.

Modern twist on how my generation was raised - "If you wouldn't want your grandmother to read about it on the front page of the newspaper, then don't do it." If you don't want people to post things like this about your business on social media... then don't do things like this.

Thank you for saying what many of us are thinking.

I dobut there's bulling going on at CEA. Courtney is all about mental game and being mentally strong. And she is building your mental strenght without you knowing about it. She pushes them SO hard. She's giving them skills that they are not capable of. But they will be doing it soon. That's her coaching style and if you don't like it and she is to hard for you than you are probably call this bullying. But hey....it's looks like her mental game is winning worlds so I guess it work.

For Jeene I am so excited for her and can't wait to see her wearing teal.
For Amber is this is true about her going to CA. She will look amazing in blue with her new family. Just hope she won't be on BABS but I wouldn't be surprised.

How is it weird? Amber said SE had a month to find someone. So she told them a while ago... People move, I'm sure Jenee's family isn't the first to move from California to NC. She's lucky to get to leave one great program & find a home in another.

We competed this weekend with Amber. Staff found out Tuesday night. Team found out last night. How is that a month to find someone? CSP had 1 Day.......

i understand that but then why not just tell the truth? thats whats bothering me about it. they're saying she lost interest, then throwing in negative comments randomly.. why not just say your side of the story, or say nothing at all? same thing with the whole jenee leaving, and now amber. if people are just honest, theres really no room for speculation and questioning!

The way I read it made it sound that way. Sorry..
And in that day you have Jenee who is clearly a fast learner

Wouldnt it make more sense for Jenee to be on a coed team because thats what she came from? Its pretty different getting used all girl stunting. I guess coed didnt have a spot open like SE did.

This is the first time I've heard of this, so I'm curious.

How is it any different than Smoed? Constantly knowing you're replaceable, needing to be perfect or you're off the team? The whole 'other people coming in to watch practices' thing. Well, if they're almost out of alternates, you NEED to bring up new people who are excelling to learn the routine. It's not like they're replacing people left-right-and-center for the team, heck this is the first I've ever heard of someone leaving SE in the middle of the season. End of season, maybe once or twice, and quite the number have come back.

I wonder if Jenee had even decided to go to CEA, would Amber leaving have even been a big deal?
