so there was a tornado in my town last night (no damage to my family or house thank god) but other parts of the town got hit pretty bad. it got me thinking about all the other places I've lived and all the interesting weather events I've lived through for example; my birth town there was a really bad flood that damaged about 65% of the homes in the town when I was in grade 6, an ice storm that kept us out of school for a week in another town in grade 8, earthquakes when I lived in Cali in grade 10 & 11, a rainstorm that shut down the subway systems last summer in Toronto and finally a tornado. I must say I find it all rather comical.

what makes this comical by any means?

My ears have been pierced since I was 7. However, they were done unevenly and my right lobe was pierced very close to the edge. Today, as I took my earrings out for tumbling, my lobe completely ripped and now I can't wear earrings. Does anyone know if this will heal or not?

Probably not... I've heard of people getting stitches to reconnect the tissue

Cause I find it better to laugh a little then wallow and call myself a walking disaster or bad luck charm. Things could always be worse so why not try to find humour in what I can.

I guess I don't see the humor in thousands of people losing their homes and possessions.

I don't think that is what she is meaning. Everyone has a different way if expressing themselves and sometimes the written word does not adequately get the correct intent across. Perhaps a poor choice of wording for her description but am assuming no maliciousness or laughing at others tragedy

If you truly believe that I or anybody else would laugh at somebody for losing their home your sadly mistaken and I'm sorry you see the world through that lens. When I stated it was comical I did not mean it as a knee slapping, laughable situation, I meant it as being amusing or absurd.

I'm currently updating my resume and have a question. I've heard from some people that your resume should be basic, no color, nothing fancy. Others say that it should stand out and be unique. Any suggestions?

To sum up what I have heard, you want to make it stand out but in a basic way...No color (other than maaaaybe the header) and no pictures or no fancy fonts or anything else. The information on it should make it standout. You can do different layouts to make it different but nothing extreme.

Livid because a student stole my phone, and I was able to track it to her house but she's claiming she doesn't have it, and I'm so upset because I can't do anything about it.

I don't think it will heal itself, but I have also heard of people getting it stitched. My right lobe piercing is stretched, thanks to wearing heavy earrings, & earrings hang lower in that ear. It drives me crazy so I don't normally wear them much. A friend of mine told me about these little stickers you put behind your ear & it holds your earring in place. They are called Ear Lift & I got them off Amazon. They work & for now are better then stitches. :) FYI...if you run out of them don't use a small piece of duct tape as a replacement. Lol! ;)

I have one lobe that is more stretched too so now I only wear studs, which is sad because I love earrings. I tried similar sticker things from Claire's, they worked okay but I still won't chance it. I'm seriously considering looking into having it stitched after the summer.

The Ear Lift stickers I have work great. They can even last a few days & don't come off with showering or swimming. Give them a shot, the cheaper ones didn't work for me either. :)
