I never updated this but she got her standing BHS full like the open gym after this post I think.

She also got her punch front step-out .. She has always said it was really hard to step out of a punch front.. But the night she did it she decided to throw her full out of it! The full was super ugly lol.

She also got her whip punch tuck
And whip punch layout

She is working on her whip punch full and her Arabian right now as well as her standing full. She switches it up depending on what she wants to work on or what coach is there.

She also tends to ball her fulls up when doing specialty passes because she says it's easier ... They want her to lay them out not just when doing a running full by itself but all the time even in her sanding BHS full so that is probably what is proving to be hardest for her right now. I have never seen her so happy!

Amazing when they have no fear!
Question though - how is she doing a whip punch tuck/whip punch layout/full - the whip and the punch front start in different directions (backwards for the whip; then you are facing front for the punch front) so I am having a hard time trying to visualize this and how they are connected. And what is she getting her momentum from after she lands the punchfront before the layout/full?

She means punch as in punch off the ground directly from the whip to the tuck, rather than whip bhs tuck ("whip through to tuck"). Nothing separating the whip from the tuck/layout :)

My wording is confusing.

You punch out of your whip to do a tuck layout or full.
So the word punch is not coming from a punch front .. It is simply punching out of your whip into another suspended Skill.

Instead of doing a BHS out of the whip into the layout or full.

That's how I have heard them refer to it as well as other people in the cheer world!

She is doing a BHS-whip-punch front-layout? I can't envision that one. Am I having a senior moment in not being able to connect the dots since whips and layouts are backwards motion while a pinch is forward?

The whip to punch is the one throwing me off because she can do step out to BHS into the layout.

**I wonder how many times CheerDad gets tagged by people thinking it is me, lol?**

Read above lol cheer need and I tried to explain it!

A coach can correct me if I'm wrong and if that is not the right wording lol

Thank you! So whip to tuck or whip to layout.
@Kris10boo I think I have it now. :)

I'm not saying the punch isn't the right word for in between those 2 skills but it's not something I've heard used here or in NC. We would just say a whip tuck, whip layout or whip full. Arabian through to whip full..........
