double post. I was at crazy game today. I saw a mom give her baby (9-10 mos) soda. C team won, JV lost (ugh they were ahead), and varsity won by 2. Ugh that last game was so stressful. They were ahead by 15 points 4th quarter. They were about to lose but won with 2 lay ups in like 10 seconds. @12mowerd if I had nails I probably would have had no nails like you lol.

ETA: okay I didn't see the last 2 layups because I couldn't watch any more so I was in the bathroom lol.

@ iwearmysugnglassesatnight my game last night was about like yours. JV lost, Varsity won by 3. With 7 seconds left we were tied at 94, and a kid on my team made a 3, which ended up winning the game. Something happened though, and they put 2.1 seconds back on the clock, after it had stopped at 0.7. Our boys thought the game had ended, so they rushed the court (it was an away game), and so someone from their fan section said something about that being a technical, so I got a bit worried, but they just did the clock thing with another timeout. Oh, and apparently, the team we cheered against designates who does crowd cheers each full timeout. Does anyone else do this? We thought it was really weird. And (I'm just now realizing how eventful last night was. I'm only about halfway done [emoji23]) apparently, these captains don't let their girls talk to the other team's captains (which in this case were my captains), because when they went over to talk to them, they said "we can't talk to you or we'll get in trouble." So that happened. We also watched the reigning state champion hip hop dance team perform their competition routine, so that was awesome. We fangirled. A lot. And then in the Varsity game, the same kid that made the game winning 3 scored his 1000th career point. Meanwhile, about an hour away, a senior on our girl's team scored her 1000th career point. Then on the bus ride home, the head basketball coach announces that the bus was stopping at Dairy Queen and Mr. 1000's dad was buying everyone ice cream.

I thought that the cheerleaders took turns during time outs to do a cheer. Also that's kind of rude to not let the captains talk.

My parents went the game last night and they said it was a horrible game. Both fans were going crazy. Refs were calling bad calls, but the varsity boys still won. The coach (ours) got thrown out last night because her son fouled out. My said the boys had to hold her back. Her daughter plays for girls varsity. They won last night too.

Maybe I didn't phrase it quite right, but they did eventually get to talk to their captains, but the reason they went over there was to figure out who would go between what quarters for floor cheers. We've always done everyone does every timeout. It's never been an issue before, so we were surprised that it was a big deal to them

Congratulations! That's my best friends top school so I know how difficult it is to get into, good job girlie!!

congrats girl. That's so awesome.
Thank you to both of you! [emoji8] granted I probably won't end up there unless I get one of their big merit scholarships since I'm OOS (and have other good offers) but I still got in!

A lot of poor rural moms in Mexico give Coca Cola to their babies (even newborns) because they have no idea how bad it is.

Double post but oh well.

My team is having athlete evaluations today... not excited. We're going for a bid pretty soon here and we only have two chances, so obviously we want to put the best 24 athletes out there.
We have 27 practicing right now and 10 more coming to try out.

Im fully prepared to throw jumps to tuck to my face. :help:
Good luck!!! You got this!!! I'm glad more people have been interested in the team though. And I still want to see you guys compete!

My friend just got his 1000 point on Friday and it was dunk! Even though I'm in college I still love my HS basketball team, and I'm so happy that I'm home for our rival games. We are one of the top teams in the region, and have been number 4 in VA for the past two years. We've had crazy games as well. Two of the most vivid games include our last game in our 60 year old gym to go to regional semifinals. In the final seconds we were down 2 to tie, 3 to win. My friend made the buzzer beater 3, his first three of the season. There's video somewhere and you can hear the emotion in the announcers voice, as he has announced for our school for a long time. We had a stellar season, and it was the Gold anniversary of our school so we had gold outs, and signs and it was just a fun season because we weren't expecting to be so good.

Last year we played the regional championship at home, in our new school/gym. We played the undefeated, top ranked team that would eventually win the state championship, so the game was sold out, and people were turned away at the door. We never had locker rooms, but we used one for this game because they didn't want us having our stuff in the gym or having to use the bathroom with all the fans. The other team was sooo cocky, and like told our team that they'd get our numbers after they won the game. Only they didn't and we beat them good. Even when they won states, it was mentioned that the season will always be tarnished by their Regional Championship lost.
