This is interesting. I was a flyer back in the day, I am 5'8 and 50kg (not sure what that is in Lbs). I am very thin for my age and my height, coming from a ballet background I was flexible and held myself well. I was lead flyer for years and years, then one day it all changed when I started to get overlooked for smaller girls. I was put as back spot and had to spot the most basic skills as they didn't hold themselves well, pulled themselves down from stunts and had no flexibility. They were tiny and short, so were automatically put as a flyer. It was the most frustrating period in my cheerleading career.
I was also told by a reputable coach I would never fly in a high level because I was too "tall". It didn't matter how many skills I got, it didn't matter! It was locked into there brains "you have to be this height, if not, you don't fly."
