Well that makes sense. We used to go to AC all the time but now just go locally. Perhaps if AC lowered their room rates they could get more business.

I think at this point they're practically giving rooms away. I've heard it's really easy to get all expenses paid at Revel.

Sandy also had a horrible effect on business in AC. That coupled with the fact that it rained nearly every weekend during the following summer caused many people to travel elsewhere.

I'm having an amazingly hard time trying to find a room block in AC for Beast of the East in January. It's a holiday weekend and they're asking minimum $179/night at most hotels.

Are u looking to b close to competition? Our gym got our block for Comfort inn for a great price. I got a great duplex that sleeps 12 for 550 for 3 nights 7 miles away on website VRBO.

We don't have to be all that close. We're willing to drive up to a half hour to the comp. I'll try VRBO thanks!

You just have to be careful in AC especially in the off season. It's not all that great of a town outside of the hotels.

Revel may be closed before the competition happens. Trump Plaza is closing in September too. I like the Sheraton- it is a few blocks away but is right next to the outlet stores and food places. Its a nice hotel and you can get good deals on Expedia or the other hotel discounters.

I would suggest the Chelsea hotel or the Chelsea annex. I have stayed in both with my dad, pretty sure they are relatively inexpensive and on too of that, close proximity to casinos for your husband to be.

Sheraton is sold out for the weekend of our comp [emoji22]

Trump Plaza is closing in Aug, however, they are trying to find a buyer. Showboat is closing in September and Revel has filed for bankruptcy and looking for a buyer. Great hotels in AC are Borgata, Trump Taj Mahal and Courtyard Marriott. We have stayed in all 3. You can easily take cab or ride the jitney which is safe. The reason AC is going down again is the over saturation of gambling on the east coast. Pennsylvania is now 2nd to Las Vegas as gambling destination. That will only be until the MGM Resort at National Harbor ( on Potomac River in Md near VA and DC lines opens in 2016. That will be the east coast answer to Vegas.

I would definitely be careful with anything involving a deposit because more could close before AC comps start in January.
