I JUST said this too. I hated A Walk To Remember. My mom and sister dragged me to the movie when it came out and I almost booed out loud in the movie theater. I was mad about it.One of my facebook friends commented how TFIOS is basically the new A Walk to Remember for this new "generation" (if you will), and now I can't stop thinking about that. The stories are pretty similar, except that they are both sick instead of just one.
I went on my 1st cruise last Oct. w/ my mom, best friend, & her mom, to Bermuda. It was a great bday surprise from my mom. Nothing like a few old ladies on a cruise ship but we had a blast! Actually we were probably amongst the youngest.[emoji6] My mom had been before so she knew some tips. Thanks to a tropical storm headed our way our time in Bermuda was shortened but we made the most of it. Got in later day 1 went shopped at the port & took a taxi to St. George to eat & shop. At the port make sure you check out the glass making, so cool! Day 2 had about 6 hours. The 4 of us got a taxi for 4 hours & told him to take us to all the hot spots he could. Best idea ever! We got to see so much, even some beautiful hidden gems, and learned lots of history as well. Our taxi guy was the best, it made the "tour" so fun. We got some beach time too but thanks to the storm not as much as we would have liked. Just discuss the price w/ them before you get in. Also take a few zip lock bags so you can bring home some sea glass or beautiful pink sand. Just don't be surprised as you get back on the ship if they check out your sand to make sure it's not something else. [emoji6]lol! Bermuda is beautiful I wish we had had more time. I would love to plan a trip back. Enjoy!! Feel free to PM if you have any other questions.
Definitely wear a patch or band even if you are not prone to motion sickness. I have been on 3 cruises. The best port activity I ever did was in St. Croix. We rented mopeds and explored the island on our own. We went to the rain forests, shanties, found a fabulous local watering hole and had lunch with the locals, toured the University of V.I. etc. We saw so much more than we would have on a regular tour and I fell in love with the island. I wouldn't have gotten back on the boat if my CP wasnt at home!. I wouldn't recommend doing this in some locations and I would only do it with a group (we did it in Cozumel and got blackmailed by the police to the tune of $200 and some ports have a high crime rate) but Bermuda may be a good location for it!
These tips aren't really for fun things to do, but if you drink sodas, check if they allow you to bring your own. Most cruises have a drink card for unlimited sodas, but it gets pricey. The last cruise I went on let each person bring a 12 pack, so we just brought our own. Also, at the dinners in the dining room, you can order as much as you want of anything. You don't have to get like one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert. So if you want to try 2 appetizers or something, you can. One night, they had lobster tail and I may or may not have ate 2 more reorders.
On lobster night my uncle may or may not have had two lobster tails and a serving of sea bass...LolThese tips aren't really for fun things to do, but if you drink sodas, check if they allow you to bring your own.
