Especially since every little design detail on the uniform is not free. They'd be PAYING the Varsity seamstresses to create donut holes in the mesh under the arms? Where it's most likely to rip? Make it more fragile? Mesh is so fussy to work with--I just can't see it being a design option. Of course, just my .02 about something that's absolutely not important!

Same uniform I believe (black ops) and no armpit hole from what I can tell

So I saw this picture on Instagram and I think it's a perfect example of why mesh is not functional on an athletic uniform. Granted it can work sometimes but this shows that placement is everything

Ok the first thing I noticed (other than the holes) was the fact that her top is too small!! Hello b**b slip!! (Apologies if I have offended anyone)

Maybe it's my computer, but there's definitely something going on in the armpit area. You can see where the seam is, and there's that weird little squiggle going up and the fabric is a little lighter in a patch (that doesn't look like regular arm business).

Yeah I know what you mean, but not the same as the other picture of this uniform

Looks more like a bra underwire to me. CP had a uniform that would ride up and show her bra - it wasn't too small but certain movements would pull it up. I think it would have stayed in place better if the band had been tighter.

- I don't think any of those ones were tore and I don't know anyone that had a problem like that all season

I would like to give a compliment about Varsity.

We also have mesh arm- pits... Not because our coaches when they designed the uniform said oh we want mesh armpits but it just happened like that when it was designed.

When looking at the design from the front and the back the mesh only look like lines that meet on the back in between the red and blue ... You would of never realized in a sketch of regular uniform that it had mesh armpits and I don't think anyone realized it till we started wearing them

After we got them in and we realized this we turned our uniforms in and they re-enforced all of them in the mesh area because we were concerned about them ripping and honestly my daughters is strong as well as everyone else .. I could be wrong but I don't see them ripping at all. You can see the black line where they are sewed and it's pretty heavy duty. So I don't think they are making bad quality uniforms with mesh and I don't think the people responsible for designing the Cali uniform said we want mesh armpits. I think it just so happened like that when they got them

I don't know about the BLOPS uni but the regular program uni we've had for two seasons now and my CP's has no rips or tears in the mesh, which really surprised me. She's not gentle about putting it on or taking it off. She's also a back spot and there's a lot of opportunity to rip the sleeves.
