All-Star Prepping For The Cheerpocalypse: What Will We Do When Shtf?

I guess I'm naive, but I do think there's a place for smaller gyms outside the Varsity "program." Our former gym didn't do Varsity comps, didn't have Varsity uniforms. And parents were still paying tuition every month. I never heard anyone complain that we weren't going to Summit. We did switch gyms this year, and the new one is aligned with Varsity. And you know what? The cost isn't significantly higher. I guess it will be IF CP's team gets a Summit bid, but that's not guaranteed.

I don't hear parents complaining that Little League is a monopoly. It used to be the only thing there was. Now there are tons of different travel leagues, fall ball, entire sports complexes and businesses built on year round baseball training. Little League didn't kill baseball. It grew it.

my new programme have 29 teams including cheer and dance but also have a very strong gymnatics programme for rhythmic and artistic so they should be fine but I will most likely miss the first practice this season someone ran into my car today and need to get it fixed

Ok, so you don't have to give your gym name if you don't want but I'm curious to know if gyms are only focusing on All-Stars or are branching out to other things?
This is what cp's gym does:
They work with 4 higschools (rent space to them on a weekly basis and hold clinics)

We do academy tumbling classes (they don't have anything to do with Allstars and most of the kids that take them are not on a team at the gym)

Offer dance classes (adult & Children)
Parent & me classes for preschoolers

Dance Teams

8TA movement classes and camps
I hope our gym survives the Cheerpocalypse[emoji15]

We just merged with a smaller program in another town, and both gyms have tumbling classes for all ages. Our gym regularly has open gym available to anyone and is continually adding classes.

The new gym has a batting cage for rent. I'm not sure what else they still have but I know their focus was not solely on all star before the merge.

Oh, I also know quite a few of our coaches and our owner are involved with some of the school squads in our area.

Can you name big competitions that has nothing to do with Varsity? I'd like to know!

On the west coast, we have GSSA which is Varsity independent. They also do the Aloha brand competitions, and produced the Champions League last year.
I really enjoy GSSA comps, one of the things I like like about their comps is that they put scores up on their website after comps are over, not just placements but the actual scores! Not many comps we go to do that.
What about Jamz on the west coast? Do they have anything to do with Varsity? I also really like them.

Is USFinals involved with Varsity? There are so many "brands" listed on their site, I don't really know. To smaller gyms, these are big comps. Ditto "Reach the Beach" under ACDA. Battle at the Capitol is a 2 day under Coastal. Is there a connection between Varsity and Jam beyond the unified score sheet?

I believe JAMZ also has nothing to do with Varsity!
There are other, smaller competitions such as the Full Out Championships in San Diego and the competitions POWER puts on in the Nor Cal area, but they're not huge.
Also, I believe the Xtreme Spirit brand has no Varsity affiliation, but personally I haven't had a good experience with their competitions.

For our gym and most of the gyms in our area, although the all-stars teams are the basis of the gym's existences, their bread and butter are the town teams and the the school teams who come to them for skill training and choreography. And then many of these kids join the half-year teams which start in December/January.
