There's a whole lexicon for fanfiction. Some words/acronyms have since crossed over into the mainstream, like OTP and 'ship.

Christians wanting to ban Harry Potter for witchcraft is hilarious, because it's like the Halloween witchcraft and not witchcraft-witchcraft. But witchcraft-witchcraft is really interesting anyway so leave them alone.

I was just on Amazon buying 25 of a 50 book list of all the books kids should read by the time they're 12; Harry Potter is on it's way. Because literacy means more to me than them turning into witches. Witches would be freaking cool!

Can you imagine how much faster my kids could get themselves to their own practices if they had a wand or a broom. Dude, I'd be in paradise...not to mention "Clean your room!" Wave of a Wand. "Done."

Legit, my daughter's can turn into magical witches at any point in time and I'm perfectly okay with that.

Damn now you made me go watch the end of The Gift and I am sitting here crying despite having seen it a million times.
Did you know this from actually watching the episode or did you read about it somewhere? Because to me it just looked like a swan dive into the hellmouth.

To me it looked like a pretty clear-cut spread-on-the-cross kinda shape. But there have literally been books upon books written just on the Buffy-Jesus allegory, including that scene.

I've seen that episode dozens of times and I still can't get through it without floods of tears.

She saved the world a lot....I still miss that show.
I guess being Jewish I never thought about Buffy/Jesus comparisons (especially with those eps) but I can see why so much has been written about them. I think a lot of the time Joss toyed with the mainstream regarding religious beliefs and then sat back and made some popcorn.

i wonder if these "industry leading athletes" plan on getting a degree cause it looks like robert has yet to attend college and he's suppose to be what a junior in college now..yikes

College isn't a requirement to be successful in life.
It can be a great stepping stone for some professions, but not all need one and with the rising cost of a college education; the invest to gain ratio may be heavily off.
I mean, if his life goal is to make it in the entertainment industry then he doesn't need one; if he wants to coach and own a gym a business degree would likely pose useful, but not required.

Though I do still stand by my comments about him getting his act together from the other thread; college doesn't HAVE to be the only suitable place for him to put said act together.

Completely agrees, my kids r opposite. Son is in college, getting great grades, graduates in May and wants to go for a masters degree. Has always cared about and done great in school. On the other hand.....CP "got by". I would never know what her grades would be..... Not awful but happy with some C's. Along with B's/A's. She is going to Paul Mitchell cosmetology, her dream and will kick A$& in whatever she does. (Ask all her teamates she helped). Technical or No college will sometimes get u a better career than 4 or more years of college along with all the debt!
