Different production company. Awesomeness TV did Smoed and CJA, another one which name escapes me did the Gabi series and Cheer Full Out.

I thought it was obvious that GymTyme was filmed cause the production team followed her there.

True, i think the reason for cheer fullout to Cover gymtyme was gabi and her family in the First place. So not really a big surprise here

How do you think they're able to offer free tuition? The second they announced free tuition, I knew the next announcement would be about a show.

The minute this was announced I figured it would involve a "show". G hasn't been at a gym without a show in years... even, coincidentally, when "homesick". Ironic that Trinity tie ended when show did not materialize? Hmmmmm....

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure how much they made off of the show. I figured it was probably enough for the worlds team, but summit too? What happens when the gym gets bigger and they can't scholarship everyone?

Lots of gyms offer scholarship in the form of free tuition, and that happens in other sports as well. However, when gyms start offering a paycheck above and beyond direct expenses, then I think we have a problem that USASF needs to address.

I don't know. I guess I am in the minority, but It seems to be a smart marketing move to me. Write the scholarships off as a marketing tool and the TV show will work as publicity and help get the gym's name out there.

Could also pose issues should Acro Tumbling or similar ever be official "sports" under NCAA ... you know... those pesky rules about what money you can and can't accept

I don't know. The smoed show looks like it's sponsored by Acuvue(sp?) now so it's possible that they could be getting sponsorships from outside sources.

I won't pretend to be shocked the youtube show is going with her to her new team... but they did a great job last season and while she may be the reason for their show, she was featured very little and they kept it about the whole team. My original concern when they announced Cheer: Fullout last season was it would be focused on Gabi/Robert/ME and was pleasantly surprised so I won't complain about the new team being featured.

I will miss Debbie Love, though. and I enjoyed the insight into the GymTyme program.

I strongly dislike the timing, but free tuition can definitely be a positive for some kids/families. My oldest CP has a girl on her high school cheer team who is good and DESPERATELY wants to do all star cheer, but her family can't afford it. She would be grateful for and truly appreciate an opportunity like this.
