This is why I was asking about who made statements about it post-Sunday night. It sounded like they asked for everyone to come down, but just because they were there, doesn't mean that they were speaking about what we think that they were speaking about , or that they agreed.

eta- I am laughing at how many people are on the outer edge of this pic staring at the core circle,

Not sure if this helps. Not saying I believe every thing that is said by everyone here but I consider NJ Coach and BlueCat very reputable people here. (Eta: Even though BlueCat said it didn't come to an actual vote, the board was speculating who would've said no.)

2 of the top 5 teams voted no

I was standing in that circle and I never saw it come to an actual vote. We had an option for a do-over presented by USASF that had it's own set of logistical problems. From the start we were told it was going to have to be unanimous from ALL of the large seniors, not just the "Power 5". There was some debate, but it was clearly never going to be unanimous, so there wasn't a roll-call type vote.

The emotion you saw was coaches being frustrated with USASF. I don't think any of the coaches were upset with each other - even with differences of opinion about how to best proceed.

I think I got Courtney and Sarah(slash Lady of Teals' coach??), Elaine, Roger from Rays, BlueCat maybe? Tara from MT. I wish I knew who everyone was, I'd label them all and repost an edited pic for future reference.

ETA: Oh and Ben Pope
I mean, I just assume the people in blue/teal are CEA people. I recognize Elaine and some people as being CA, but I don't know the rest.

Thanks for the links :) It was very surreal to be driving as all of it went down and people were texting and calling me saying what they were watching in real time and via the feed. By now, I should know to expect the unexpected from Worlds, but it sounded so farfetched at the time LOL

CP slipped getting onto the mat. By the time the pyramid rolled around her shoes/socks were completely wet. In the pyramid her foot slipped out of her base's hand. Thankfully her base is awesome and was able to grab and throw her by the ankle. During the dance, cp slipped getting up from one floor position and her timing was off.

This is what I was worried about. There were a lot of stunt falls that could have been due to wet shoes, stunt falls that would not have happened if the shoes were dry.

And, that's something that probably wouldn't have been thought about until the stunt section began.

I fully believe we need a seperation between Worlds and USASF if USASF wants to continue to be the governing body of cheer. Not only because they clearly cannot handle enforcing their own rules AND run a competition at the same time but its seems like there is a complete double standard. Other EPs would be repremanded harshly by USASF (in theory) if they pulled the same shenanigans but USASF can walk away without even a slap on the wrist.

I'd really like to see a seperate "EP" that only does Worlds. Varsity and all other independant EPs, appearal companies, etc, can partner, USASF can govern but keep it seperate from everything else.

Please God, not Aloha!!!

And they might not have even noticed depending on choreo until then. One person might be like 'Oh, my hands are a bit damp' during standing tumbling but when do you have time to talk about it?!?

Also I noticed just from the CEA video that a lot of girls seemed to be trying to wipe their feet on the floor in the beginning of the routine.

For lack of a better analogy... I look at "cheer" as North Korea. You've got Kim Jong Un/Varsity calling the shots. Those who are needed to help maintain that power (EPs, gym owners, etc.) are kept under control by $/power and the threat of execution should they step out of line or speak out (no, obviously not really execution but beyond the $ and power part of Varsity control there is more.) The government (USASF) having any real power separate from Kim? Pick me up as I laugh myself silly on the floor. And then there are the families and cheerleaders themselves. Varsity has "Susie's mom" profiled and figured out to a tee! Marketing geniuses honestly. Keep the citizens fed and they shall not revolt. "Oh Susie you are the Level # "World Champion"" (and there's a "free" jacket/ring/trophy to prove it)

Can it ever be changed? Sadly I think the system is too entrenched. The livelihoods of those with enough power to effect change are too attached to he who is in power. And the citizens may talk revolt but are too easily calmed with a ring or jacket and implied threat that their sweet Susie will be the victim should they choose to step out of line.

A do-over would have presented so many logistical problems. Not only time, space, scheduling, crowd attendance, scoring etc, but what about travel? I know most probably stayed but I'm willing to bet some of those Large Senior athletes were headed home Monday morning.

They did have a rain date/time for re-scheduling those divisions to Monday, so I don't think it would have been smart for athletes to leave early in case finals had to be pushed back because of rain/storms.

I heard here that athletes who competed outdoors were told not to make travel plans to leave until Tuesday, since Monday night was the scheduled makeup if they had to cancel on Sunday due to weather.
