when flyers are lazy and dont hold their weight and dont fight for their stunts, they just fall when something goes wrong. ugh hate it
and also, teams have REALLY bad music that i cant stand.

When level 2-5 kids don't know how to do a high V correctly - ESPECIALLY flyers.
Tryout Clinic - when I say work on the material on your own for a few minutes, that doesn't mean play around. You probably won't make the team. This refelcts how you'll do in practice when I tell you to work on this on your own. (I know, a little off topic, but just held tryouts, needed to get it off my chest!)
When girls finish competing and walk around with their skirt or top unzipped. Wear it right. It looks trashy. If it's that tight to where you need to unzip it right away, you either need to lose a few lbs, or ask for a bigger uniform.
When girls wear their side bangs down during competitions. It looks ugly, pull ALL of your hair away from your face like the rest of your team please!
Lastly, like others said, when the whole team is busting their *** to get skills, and one girl is sitting their doing nothing. What's better is when that one girl is instructing everyone else, even though she can't or can barely do that skill. Perfect it, don't teach it. Let the coach do their job please.

This is awesome!! I want to take this to my gym, and say excuse me can all cheerleaders, coaches and parents PLEASE read this and follow some guidelines she/he as set!!! Thank you...

uwishuknew101: Thank you :). Just some things I've learned in the short time i've been coaching. I'm sure the list will get much longer once I coach more teams and different age groups. By the way, I am a she. haha

a variety of pet peeves related to cheer/competitions

i can't stand it when kids are chowing down on monster/red bull and french fries and then complain that they feel sick, and then proceed to barf all over the mat. (true story and it was disgusting)

parents who can't seem to keep their rude comments to themselves

cheerleaders making out with their boyfriends are a cheer comp, while still in uniform

un-even cheer makeup! it just looks awkward when one eye looks nice, and the other looks all wacky

girls crying at practice when all they have is like a paper cut- i understand crying because your knee just fell out of the socket but please don't cry because you are frustrated or because your cut stings a little bit

girls who don't show up to practice even though there is a massive competition right around the corner- a hair appointment or the sadies hawkins dance is not an excuse to miss practice.

so many more. just can't think of them...

i hate this!! but thankfully, my gym doesnt allow you to compete if you don't come to practice right before a competition, unless there is a legit reason.

Im kind of guilty of this (Im engaged tho) but i dont makeout i just do a quick peck for goodluck! I hate sending bad examples.
i mean when it's like full-on make out in the corner, like something you wouldn't want little kids to watch. hehe. but i think a quick kiss is okay. :)

1) babies, whiners, whimps, complainers, etc.
2) lazy people who dont carry their weight at practice
3) when a female and male are opposites for a formation (this absolutely kills me. if there is only one you better be good enough to be on center the whole time! and if another girl cant do the skill have a dang good faker be her opposite!)
4) formations in general being off
5) flexed feet in any body position or double down
6) edward scissor legs in double downs
7) excessive flamboyance in a routine, you are a boy and most of you dont have hair so dont try to flip your "hair" around, or shimmy your non existent boobs around!

just couple i can dish out from the top of my head! :)

someone said something about people being frustrated at practice..i know from experience some things do get very frustrating sometimes so getting upset because you haven't been able to execute a skilll all night is kinda something to be upset about.

and it BUGGGGS me to no end when partner tumbling is completely off. it's not supposed to be a ripple, so don't make it look like one!
when groups (not just the flyer) don't fight for a stunt they CLEARLY could've saved
and lastly i hate people to don't try. if you don't want to be here, then quit

I think we have all caught cheer OCD with the formations and tumbling things hahaha
