I can't stand when I see bows laying flat on the head, looking like an airplane! Drives me crazy and I just want to yell..who the heck made your bow!

CLAPPING WITH ELBOWS APART, lazy dancers, random spirit in routines, crossing the middle of the floor in transitions... I could go on all day

Here I go:

Appearance Pet Peeves
-Bows. I HATEEE ugly bows. Especially if someone wears an ugly bow and it is ugly in their hair too. Please try to at least make the bow look somewhat cute.
-When girls have a SUPER hot bow and it is either back way too far on their head, folded funny because it was laying at the bottom of their bag, too far forward on her head, or flopped backwards.
-Bangs down while competing. It's understandable with a headband, but if you're wearing a bow, no matter what hair style, please pull your bangs back, whether they're in a poof or straight back.
-Flyaways. It's called hairspray.
-Make up that doesn't show up very well.
-Unzipped unis/cellphone in skirt/uggs with uni (but let's not get started with that agian).

Competition Pet Peeves
-Warmups without a full spring floor. I understand a lot of competition companies are small and may not be able to afford them, but when bigger competitions don't have one.. Come on.
-Unhealthy food.
-No priority seating.
-BATC: "Cheerleaders are not allowed in priority! Family only!" .......... Really?
-Bad venues.

Team/Routine Pet Peeves
-People showing up late to practice and coaches not doing anything about it.
-Not coming to practice for no reason.
-Uneven boys in formation (my team was extremely guilty of this).
-"The boob show-off." GOSH DARN IT. THIS ISN'T POP WARNER.
-Sandbaggers.
-Bad music.
-Team's that steal music and think that no one will notice.
-Legit "facials." Please leave the kissy face, duck face, and bobble head to the pop warner girls.
-Competitions with stupid games and lame contests going happening on the floor.
-Awards ceremonies with "dance parties." Please just continue with the awards. I understand this for the younger award ceremonies, but i bet half the senior aged kids do NOT want this to happen. Just announce the winners.

I think I'm done..?

When parents think there 9yr old with a inconsistant tuck and AWEFUL motions / jumps should be on a senior 3 or 4 team, like really are you blind?!?

I agree with everything ohhh lindss just said.

eww thats nasty. when your in your uniform and your smoking that just shows disrespect for your gym and the sport of all star cheerleading. its unhealthy and unsafe to smoke, and if your a cheerleader chances are your probably too young to be smoking. thats nasty.

also i hate:
parents throwing fits because their daughter did not make a certian team even though it is pretty obvious that the girl doesnt have the skill to go to a higher level or the maturity to move up to an older age division
when youth and mini and tiny teams have songs in their music that is inappropriate for their age or when they have moves in their dance that are inappropriate
the blame game- enough said
when people in front for jumps have bad jumps(i see this all the time and im like why is that girl in the back when her toe touch is higher than the point girl?)
i also haaaaaate when people who are not on a team and dont plan on trying out go to tumbling class just to tumble(i sometimes wonder if they realize they are making it harder for people ON the teams to improve their tumbling skills)if you love tumbling not cheer, do gymnastics.
HYPOCRITES

the list goes on forever

YES!! I cringed every time I heard the end of my CP's tiny team's music last season with Flo Rida's "Right Round." Thank goodness they took that song out when they changed their music mid-season.

- "Rooftops" on bow and arrows - your toe should be pointed, people.
- Heel stretches that are winged out to the side that look like a clown or jack-in-the-box.
- Bent scales - UGH--it really doesn't take much more effort to extend that leg and point your toe.
- Flyers at extension pulling positions and are TOTALLY leaning back onto the back spot or are being supported with the base or back holding their upper thigh or butt. If you are having that much trouble at extension where you need that much support from bases and backs, drop down to Level 2 and master the flying at a prep level.
- Parents criticizing and talking about other people's kids
- play by play narration of what is happening out on the floor during practice by parents. Can I just watch my kid practice in peace and quiet please???

hahaahhaaa! and now susie is throwing a tuck, oooh, she put her hands down. and she is up and ready to go again. haha.
but one of my big pet peeves is parents who are wayy too involved in their children's cheering. it's silly when a mom has her 4 year old in privates 5 days a week so they can get a tuck before age 5.

YES! I can't stand it when parents are way too into it. Granted I started allstar/tumbling at age 14 so I didn't need my parents to come in or whatever. But really, you're taking all of the fun out of it. They can't progress too too much once they can do a full at 6! Eventually they won't find cheering as much fun.

BTW I love this thread just for venting factor....
I HATE when your sitting at practice minding your own business and Ms. "I coached Pee Wee cheer for two years and know EVERYTHING about cheer" starts quizzing you on your child. How old is she? Does she have her BHS? Why did they put her on a Jr. team? Is she taking private lessons? Has she cheered before? Where? Why did you leave? Do you know what teams they are having this year?
Here's a tip Lady instead of being so fixated on my kid why don't you concentrate on your kid's janky a** backhandspring...
My favorite line of the morning was "Did you know CA made their Panthers team Small Senior? Oh I guess you wouldn't since your not there anymore...." Newsflash that's like last week's news I probably knew Panthers was going small while you were still trolling the bar for your next boyfriend. OH OH and "So do you think you'll get any info on their routine (Katz) you could tell us about?" God grant me the serenity not to punch this lady in the face. I made it very clear to her that while we are very happy at our new gym I will be carrying a CA shirt at all comps both teams are at and wearing it at some point so NO even if I did know what their team was doing I wouldn't tell her.
2.5 hours with her was wayyyyyy to long.

Im sure some of these were mentioned already...
BUT,

Gyms/Coaches/Practice:
-favoritism
-uglyyy uniforms, "were getting new ones next year.." never happens.
-hungover sunday practices
-absent for no reason
-getting nothing accomplished at practice
-not conditioning
-not in shape teams. really guys? adrenaline wont get you through that one.
-not having your cheer shoes with you. Really guys? REALLY??!!

Comp:
-flyers who cant fly.
-annoying announcers
-awards taking my whole life. please just get to the results, im pretty sure no one wants to hear "who let the dogs out" on repeat.
-full top uniforms on sr teams. <---- hdgadklfa;lj HATE THIS.
-wearing another teams shirt to comp with your team.
-showing up late AND unprepared to comp.
-drunk coaches
-crazy cheer parents
-disrespectful teams and/or coaches
-bad venues
-ugly/flat/small&long bows.
-random bloomers on teams. 'yessss our gym is blue black and white, but we wear rainbow zebra spanks.' EW take those off.
-competing twice the same day.
-HAVING (almost every) TEAMS FROM YOUR GYM LEAVE BEFORE YOUR TEAM COMPETES. ):

thats all i got as of now hahhaha im sure theres millions more

Different make up. teams colours blue, white, black(example) so some girls have blue eye shadows others white etc.
Whistles, rattles anything that makes noise during a routine.
Hair down at comp, just annoys me sometimes makes the routine look messy.
people from bigger name gyms acting like they are the ish.

Why do you hate full tops on senior teams?

asdlfhsdioj I do too! Haha, I don't know why......it makes them look like a school team maybe? Haha well it's not like its inappropriate for senior-aged girls to be wearing half tops, so why not get them instead?
