Just talked to Les Stella myself and he is now retracting the fact that it is illegal. His leg to stand on: the definition of flat. He says her leg is in the scorp behind her. Well, I looked up the definition of flat and it says "Horizontal". The USASF's own definition of the word "Flat back" is "lying horizontal". You can pause the video and clearly see that the flyers are face down lying horizontal. Guess the rules are what the USASF want them to be whenever they want them to be that way. Just proof that they will do what they want whenever they want. Too bad for MCE.

So if I have a leg slightly behind me or fall in an arch... that isnt flat? Falling in a lib technically isnt flat.

I would like to think this isn't true... The skill is blatantly illegal and yes it sucks to admit that someone got it wrong at a major competition and didn't call it, but I really believe it looks a lot worse to admit it's illegal then go back and retract it... Illegal is illegal no matter how unfomfortable it happens to be

If a prone position means being on your stomach (which it does, I took anatomy!), and it is illegal to be released and caught in a prone position, then no matter what your legs/arms are doing, caught in a prone position after being completely released is illegal. I don't see how it's really that complicated. Maybe I'm just making it really really simple..(which is how it should be anyway)

Maybe you don't have pride and a misplaced bid on the line?

so...I can do this release move from a areo., scale...etc. any position that shows back flexiablity, and how about level 4 ?

The same wording exists for level 4 and 5. I would ask Les, but, there are no gramaticla differences between what dictates release moves in the two levels except level 4 can not go above extended arms. I would also ask about whether a leg has to behind you to not be flat. Why would a stretch be flat? Or a lib. Or what if its a really low and terrible arabesque.

I may or may not see a few loopholes here.

This is all just making the situation even worse. Seems to me like the rules need to be spelled out better for everyone to understand. Who would have thought that the world "prone" would cause so much confusion.

I feel bad for MCE because I can imagine they had started to think that they could be receiving their bid and now this.

Even a proper bow and arrow is behind your body.

Is there a precedent in cheer for decisions being reversed after the competition is completed and awards are handed out?

i dont know why people say that other people should get involved. if something is wrong, people have the right to speak about it. no need to get upset since you performed something illegal.

i've always liked GT and have had many friends go there and come from them. so dont say im hating. id have no problem saying this about any other teams as well. but i dont think there is a need for half of the things that were said in response.
