2.AMEN to that! I hate when fliers freak out at all! Especially when airborne! I usually intimidate my fliers and it fixes everything lol. I once had a flier that used to stand on my wrist when her skill wasn't hitting (i.e. heel stretch, scorp, etc) to gain her balance and try the skill again. So I told her if she stood on my wrist one more time I'd punch her in the ankle mid-stunt. She never did it again. lol ^_^

I didn't really mean it but at least it worked.
when my flier was learning double downs, she freaked out, punched me in the face and broke my nose. when i came back i told her if she did it again i wouldn't catch her. it worked.

1.I hate when people quit right before a major competition for dumb reasons,
Ex...not being in the front.
No names, but a girl just pulled that on us and screwed us over, we had to redo 2 routines.

2. I hate when flyers have their little fits when stunts aren't working, so they just keep falling and blaming the bases instead of trying to fix it.

3. I hate when high school cheerleaders say All star cheering isn't a sport/easier. along with other athletes. What doesn't make it a sport? We lift people NOT WEIGHTS, we have to train, we compete... I just don't get it.

4.I hate parents with negative attitudes in the gym.

5. I hate when athletes go into cliques during stretches or leave someone out of something.

Here is my peeve: as a parent, your attitude should never be negative. Sure, sometimes things can happen that you don't agree with, etc., but my philosophy is that if your child is not complaining, you shouldn't be! I believe a parent's role is to support and encourage their child and the gym. If things are so bad that you have to constantly complain, go to another gym. I can't stand obnoxious parents who don't let the coaches coach. The coaches are the ones who should know what it takes to win at competition and also the limitations/abilities of those on their teams. It is not up to the parents in the viewing area to constantly analyze everything that is going on and then harass the coaches about it. Be there for your child, support them, enjoy being a part of cheer and your role as a cheer parent. Don't ruin the experience for everyone else. Enough said.

Can we put this on a T-shirt...quick someone call up 2:30 I want 50 of these made ASAP!

I hate when I go to drop my flyer because shes having a hissy fit and the bases catch her -_-

As far as I can remember, the stereotypes about male cheerleaders have been around since the late 80's!!! I remember going through it back in the day! Yes there are some male cheerleaders that are gay, and so what--they can still stunt, tumble, jump, and perform just as well--if not better-- than most cheerleaders!! All the guys that are calling male cheerleaders "fags" or "homo's"--are all sitting in the stands, with their other 5 to 10 male friends??? Meanwhile "we" were out on the floor with 20 to 36 females!!! Putting everything into perspective; who seems like the gay one now???

Psh, my boyfriend is an MMA fighter and doesn't have the ability (he has the strength, just doesn't know how to use it) to lift me about his head. Like come on, you can bench 200 something and can't lift 100 pounds? and then complain about male cheerleaders? lift a girl on each hand and then we'll talk about how you think cheerleading is gay. he's frustrating. I can't believe I date one of those guys! hahah.

Time for a list!
3. I hate negative people-the ones who look at a comp sched and say "oh we're gonna lose loook who were up against"

i had a mom call my team mom and ask if a gym was going to be at the competition we had on the schedule....the team mom said that she was not sure and asked why...her answer was "well if _____ is at the competition then i won't invite my family because _____ is really good and i don't want to be embarrased in front of my family" HOW CRAZY IS THAT
???

I really just hate the fact that non cheer people view us
(i mean all of us guys that cheer) all as being gay and are constantly saying what we do isnt a sport cause i know as a Straight male cheerleader with a short fuse i put my all into this sport i put my all into my gym and for people to 1 say im gay for it that will quickly send me over the edge and then to say that what ever they do is more of a sport well that just tops it off for me and eventhough i want to retaliate in a very violent way sooo bad i know i cant cause i know there's gym full of guys and girls that need me and i cant let them down cause some idiot football player dosent understand he couldnt last 1 single day doing what i do but i could out do him in his "sport" everyday of the week. The real question is how could any guy that cheers be gay when we are surrounded by girls on a daily basis, i know id take a whole gym full of girls over a small lockeroom of guys anyday now thats gay if you ask me just sayin.

I really hate hearing that bases/backs threaten to not catch their flyer if they don't do said skill, or do it properly. This does NOT help your flyer gain trust and confidence to improve, and increases the risk to the safety of the entire group. These statements really dissapoint me and is not tolerated on my team or in my gym.

First off, pull the spirit stick out of your butt. ALL of us who said we intimidate our fliers have already built a relationship with our fliers. I know when I do it I make sure it's only with a flier that I have known for a long time and who trusts me. The reason I intimidate my flier is to joke around, but also show them that I want to hit the stunt. I would NEVER really do anything to a flier. And I can probably speak for everyone when I say we don't really mean it. SO, quit getting a ruffled up, we're just joking.

OK Thank you ^_^ Happy cheering
