Platinum was great both days and they are clearly very talented, however their pyramid didn't hit the CHEERSPORT scoresheet to it's maximum. That is a big part of their placement in my opinion. No one is saying they aren't great, but Cheersport has a very detailed rubric for a reason. Multiple pictures (not just hitch or stretch which are basically the same) and several level 5 elements. When other teams in the division did over 12 their 5 or so elements just didn't score where they wanted them to.

Honestly it's not that hard to run out of Jackets. There is no way for Cheersport to know how many of each size they will need. Some kids get sizes bigger than what they need so that they can grow into them. The way the divisions finish play a role in the sizes being handed out. I feel bad for the kids who didn't get the chance to walk around or out of the competition with their jackets but I don't think Cheersport was a huge failure because of this. The complaints about the jackets being different for levels has been the complaint for years. They use to give the lower levels a pull over windbreaker, now they moved up to the jacket without the leather sleeves for lower levels. I think for the most part the competition ran very well. I hated the set up as far as awards because I had to miss my sons awards to watch his sister compete however everything still ran smooth.

hiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone so if anyone wants to be the nicest person on he boards and pm me their log in info to watch the videos it would be EXTREMLY appricaited... after spending my life savings this past weekend in atlanta $20 is too much for me hahaha...

but on another note commenting on stuff previously stated:
1. smoke= AMAZING. i watched them both days and just about died. i love that gym with every fiber of my being
2. i completly agree with the scoring issue. my team was fortunant enough to win large senior coed 3 but we litterally won by like at least 30 points to the second place team and was beating the last place team my over a hundred... i feel like if i was any of the other teams i would be so discouraged because of how hard it would be to make those points up
3. the jackets -_____- how do you run out?! it was so sad for our coaches to come back and tell us they had to be sent
4. overall... i felt like there was just something missing. i don't know what it was, but being there for the first time just didn't wow me as much as i thought i would. personally i think i liked dallas more when i went in 2009.

I would also like to send my thoughts out to the girl on Icon ( Senior level 3, I believe?) who competing around 8pm in B1 on Sunday. She somehow fell onto her head and was down for a good 15 minutes had to be taken off on a back board. If anyone has any updates on her let me know!

For the record - GT Platinum coaches did ask cheersport to review their routine after day one. They were given back around 20 points in deductions that were wrong. It did not move them from 4th to 2nd - nor did GT threaten cheersport in any way. A lot of mistakes were found in the way they were judged - these mistakes were CLEAR when the viedos were reviewed by cheersport. Any coach would have went to bat for their team in this circumstance. Platinum was scored a 8.3 out of 10 on standing tumbling and an 8.8 out of 10 on running tumbling - watch the videos.

The same happened to Pink. They were 24 points behind in 2nd place on day one on the Worlds Score Sheet for International. They reviewed the entire division and re-scored Pink.

I don't think it was the quantity they misjudged..I believe they misjedged how many of each size to order. There were jackets left at the last awards ceremony, but in sizes that no hs athlete would want (aka YS, AL, etc.)

Sorry to everyone who didn't get jackets at the competition. But that's life sometimes. It was probably difficult to go in blindly guessing how many of each size they would need. At least you will be getting them, which is more than most people can say!

wait so what are the level breakdowns for which jacket you will be receiving.. i know level 5 is leather sleeves but what about levels 1 - 4

Levels 1-4 was a fleece jacket with the same design on the back. (in my opinion, cuter than the level 5s and more practical. I would wear a fleece jacket more than a huge bulky letterman jacket. Especially down here in SC where it's currently 80 degrees in February. haha)

That's not entirely true...They reviewed Pink's routine and re-scored Pink

so which teams will get the "fake" varsity jackets without the leather sleeves?

Well I'm a coach of the team that won that division, and I can tell you with 100% certainty, that is not what was told to me by the Cheersport offiicial. Maybe you would like to share with us all who told you that; because since we were the team in first by 25 points, and after the change, we were in first by 15 points, one would think they would have told me this tidbit :)

yeah i saw a few of these too. they were def my favorite because they were more practical the the level 5 ones (when i wore my nca jacket to school my freshman year the monday after winning i got made fun of, it hasn't been out of my closet since then), but the fleeces are too unofficial
