Not implying there is predestination, but what is put out on the floor is what wins titles. If the pressure of the moment didnt mean so much then you wouldnt see teams miss. F5 looked absolutely fantastic day 1, but the pressure of the moment weighed in on them. Me and a friend were standing there watching them before the music started and he commented about them bouncing in place and looking really nervous. He said 'I don't think they are ready for this.' Sunday they weren't. It is a lot of pressure to carry on ones shoulders and hitting when it counts is half of what makes cheer so hard.

The thing about Orange is they show a lot of ability to hit under pressure. 16 of those girls are World and back to back NCA champions. That means when the pressure is on, they will hit. To me that can be the most intimidating thing. Is knowing that you may go out and attempt a harder routine, but if you slip up by one tiny step your competition will win, because they will hit when it counts.

I agree with your point on philosophy of routine and pressure. I understand pressure and the effects. All Star Cheer at that level has prepared my kids for pressure, amongst other things such as teamwork, preparation and dedication better than any activity I could find for them. I'm grateful for their lessons and they have seen both sides.

I commented yesterday about orange working great under pressure. I agree. F5 always seems to fall under pressure day 2 =/. Hitting when it counts is what it's all about. I really want cali to win worlds and before Sunday I thought cali was one of those teams that hit under pressure. Now I'm going to be holding my breath when they compete @ worlds. I won't be surprised if orange brings home #5.

Just so you know I don't mind opinion. But a big pet peeve at our gym is deserving something. We tell our kids they don't deserve anything. Their spot on a team or a placement at a competition. Whatever they get they have to earn. Just hit a small nerve.

And, honestly, I would have preferred Cali hit and see how it ended up. though I still think orange was hard to touch day 2.

I'm going to bet when that little one gets in front of those lights in 15 years deserve may have a bit more meaning when the kid on the other side of the routine misses a foot and loses a NCA title. Best thing about having girls is that they teach you about a different perspecitive. I disagree with your gym, you can deserve and not earn. It is never that black and white, but always grey. Grace is getting what you do not deserve. Mercy is not getting what you do deserve. Sometimes putting it out there is earning, even if you don't win that time. I had a hard time learning that as a young boy and a man. It is a lesson worth learning.

Orange is always hard to touch when they hit clean

My opinion about cali & orange has changed since the beg of the season. I honestly have no clue who would win if they both hit solid at worlds.

Cali Sm Sr had a higher raw score at NCA so if that's any indication! lol I'm sure both teams will be working insanely hard & depending on what elements are added, removed, or changed it's anyones game!

Orange had a higher raw score day 2. Day 1 was probably low from the bobble, cause that wasnt a deduction it just affected the execution.

Bobby Cox deserved to win the world series in his last season as Atlanta Braves manager. They did not earn it. If the SF Giants would have presented him with the trophy, he would not have taken it. He would tell you the teams that deserve it are the ones who earn it.
