I was but in the end it wouldn't have happened for various reasons :( What are you looking into majoring?

We can only apply to 5 schools over here which sucks, but then again we have less schools in England. We don't actually find out if we are accepted until we get our exam results in August at the end of our senior year, we get conditional offers (if they like us) which say what results we have to get to get in :/ Our admissions system is a bit complicated.

Aw man :/ I'm so sorry! But math.

That sounds incredibly confusing...I'm not sure I understand? lol

Basically we apply to the 5 schools through a central body called UCAS (sort of similar to the college board) by filling in a massive form (personal details, past grades, etc) and writing a personal statement which basically sells you to them (any volunteering you do, activities you do eg. cheer, etc.) and the schools look through all the applicants and choose people who they think are interesting based on their personal statement, references from high school, etc. and whether they will realistically meet the minimum required grades. Those people are then invited to an interview and the school narrows the pool of people down after the interview to those who they think will excel and are suited to that school, those people recieve conditional offers which means they can go if they get the grades specified in their offer. When exam results are released in mid august those who get the grades from the offer are given a place, those who don't enter a system called clearing (basically look at schools with lower requirements that still have places and see if that school will accept them) ... if that made any sense lol

Ut Arlington or californiaaa.... I can't decide. I've always want to go somewhere in Cali...but this economy just keeps getting worse

Congrats and good luck to everyone! God, 4 years ago that was ME, freaking out about colleges and auditions and such. Now I'm graduating, and I'm terrified.

For those of you who are unsure, think about what you want to do. If you don't know, I'd actually suggest a community college first unless you are DEAD SET on going somewhere and it won't put you in debt. I have come to learn that college is NOT for everyone, and there is no point wasting thousands of dollars to flounder around unless you NEED to go to that school or you'd die. Trust me, in this economy you will be much better off in the long run. Make college less about learning and more about experiencing and opening yourself up to possibilities. I had the distinct pleasure of being able to study abroad, and it changed my life. I went places and met people who have shown me ideas and ways of thinking I'd never considered. It's easy enough to chew up info and spit it back out and pass a course. Take the opportunity to actually absorb a concept rather than just rote memorization. That's useless to you.

You are too kind!!

I found out that I got into Carnegie Mellon today, too. I'm really, really, really happy...not to mention relieved lol.

Has anyone else been hearing from their other schools?
What's your top choice?!
