Ok, I'm confused so please excuse my inability to get this right haha...

I get that they're randomly selecting the performance order for prelims....But how does this work when teams with Paid bids and Partial paid bids are automatically afforded the benefit of going at the end of the division? Will there be three separate, random drawings for paid, partial, and at large? Also, At Large bid teams in the divisions with 40+ teams will have to compete three times, so does the random drawing apply to these teams?

I know there is probably a simple explanation of this somewhere, but I'm obviously overlooking something. Thanks in advance for clearing this up :)

if they do it like they did trials/prelims for int'l last year, once prelims are over, those making it out will be reverse seeded, and mixed in (every other) with the partial/paid winners for semi finals. (i'm pretty sure i remember that right...if not please correct me :) )

Ok, so based on what you're saying, the random drawing for the 40+ divisions will really be for paid and partial for SEMI FINALS since we don't know beforehand how the At Large teams will do in their prelims.

Then, the 50% of the At Large teams who move on to Semis will be placed in revere order in every OTHER spot of the Partial and Paids who were already randomly picked.

Am I right?

If I am correct, then some At Large bid teams who did well in their prelims will get to go after some of the partial and paid bid winners in Semi Finals.

From the Worlds Registration Packet:

For divisions that include 40 or more registered cheer teams; all At Large Bid competitors will compete first in a Preliminary Round. This round will be early Saturday morning, April 30, 2011 at ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex. The top 50% will move onto the compete in the Semi-Final round later that day. The Semi-Final round will be comprised of the top 50% of the Preliminary teams, plus all of the Partial Paid teams, and Paid bids team that are registered in that division. 50% of the afternoon Semi-Final teams will move onto the Finals. The Semi-Final performance order for all 40 plus divisions will be reversed seeded based off the semifinal results and inserted in the open spots between the Paid and Partial Paid bid teams moving directly into the Semi-Finals. The performance order for finals will be reversed seeded based off the semifinal results.

Frankly, I don't know how they are going to do it. We'll just have to see when we get there.

In the meantime, just try to control the antici..

pation.

:D

I would assume for divisions with just prelims and finals... they are pulling the order for prelims for everyone

For divisions with prelims and semi finals. They would pull order from at larges for prelims. Then the semi final schedule would say "team #1 advancing from prelims" etc and they would pull the paid bid teams for semi final order. And they probably decided if all the paid bid teams will go last and just decide their order, or where in the overall scheme they are going.

The Worlds Information Packet covers all this but I'll try to put it all together and hopefully clarify a little:

"The Preliminary performance order for all Worlds divisions will be randomly selected and webcast LIVE on April 14th. For divisions requiring a Semi-Final round, all Paid and Partial Paid bid teams moving directly into the Semi-Final round will be randomly selected on The lie webcast."

So for Divisions with < 40 teams:
They compete in only prelims and finals so their entire Preliminary order will be randomly drawn including all teams. Their Finals order will be reverse seeded based on Preliminary results

For divisions with > 40 teams:
At Larges compete in prelims then 50% will move on to compete with the Paid and Partial Paid bids in Semi-Finals. 50% of the Semi-Finals will move on to Finals.
At Large teams order for prelims will be randomly drawn on April 14th. Paid and Partial Paid team order for semi finals will also be randomly drawn.
After the prelims on Saturday, the At Large teams that move on will be reverse seeded based on prelims results in between the Paid and Partial Paid teams during the semi-finals. (Paid bid, At Large #24, Paid bid, At Large #23, etc...)
Finals order will be reverse seeded from Semi-Finals results

I hope I didn't confuse anyone by explaining it like that. It helps make sense to me.

You have unconfused me..Thanks:)

what happening in the draw regarding international teams?

It states that "The preliminary performance orders for all CheerleadingWorlds Divisions will be randomly selected"

International Divisions are having a US Worlds Trials for divisions > 10 teams (all but IAG 6). Top 10 teams progress to the preliminary round, now called the "IASF Nation's Cup." Order is reverse seeded from the US Worlds Trials.

Finals for all teams will be reverse seeded from the IASF Nations Cup results.

It does not say they will draw random order for the US Worlds Trials so we don't know but that sounds logical to me.

CRAP...Small Ltd CoEd is in Jostens both days...why can't they have each division compete one day in each facility, make it fair to all.

i think it is so unfair for teams that dont have partial/paid bids in sm limited and sm senior. coming from someone who has a paid bid, that is not fair at all that they must compete early then compete again against harder teams and still might not make it to day 2! without a paid bid; so they had to pay there way all the way there as well!! it just doesnt make sense to me. its kind of promoting not going to worlds without a paid bid...wasn't worlds already smaller this year with junior teams not going as well?! what is all this nonsense
