All-Star Rays Rumors Questions?

Being as a boy and they are already at 20, I am not sure that would work.

BUT, how about this.

If Worlds starts allowing unlimited crossovers, and they hand out full paid medium coed bids with a full tank of gas, I will ask roger if Orange doesn't mind competing twice, once in small senior and once in medium coed as Boyrange so we can fulfill your dream.

I laughed at this for a good 5 minutes. :) I also LOVE the Scarlett idea by the way.

Half year teams are teams we start after we hold our rec league competition, the Halloween Jam. We offer it to rec league cheerleaders who want to dip their toe into the allstar worlds. We do a lot of talking at peewee football (they will usually allow you to setup a booth with the others) and at our rec league competitions and 'grip and grin' and just talk about our program and how it works. We make it very affordable, use Ray coaches, but make it way less stress. The uniform says Rays but is a good deal more cost affective. They only do one competition (though it has been discussed that they might do 2 at some point) and its near the end of their 6 month season and made to finish right before we start tryouts (convenient huh?). 90% of the girls we get have no idea what Rays is in the allstar cheerleading world. They just know we are an allstar cheerleading gym. Last year this program grew to be 170 kids.

I love this!! What a neat idea! :)

Good question. No one is required to go tanning or whiten their teeth (but I would personally recommend it, those white strips are great!). Lots of athletes like spray tanning now (all the color, non of the UV rays exposure risk). There will always be people who want to look tanner on stage, and with spray tanning is a safe alternative that is like makeup.

I highly suggest a product called GOSMILE!! It's of equal (if not better) quality with regards to results, doesn't require strips and the product only goes where it's supposed to go (on your teeth and not gums) is over the counter (places like Sephora and Ulta sell it though, not regular drug/grocery stores), bc it only goes on your teeth, the gum sensitivity many people experience with strips they don't experience with GOSMILE. It was invented by a dentist...I was an AVID user of Crest Whitestrips for years until I came across these. They're worth a try..

do yall do choreography all at once, or is it sections at a time?

Usually we will have section ideas put together (with stunt groups, basket groups, who we know we need on what side of the floor during what so we dont cross center) then get choreography. But that all gets modified and adjusted as the year goes on.

Why do rays not have voice overs? The only ones I hear are "let's go rays"

Some teams do and some teams dont. Smoke had some really great music (voiceovers), but also do did Orange (few voiceovers). Just different strokes for different folks.

Smoke does ;)

And I think I remember Lime having one a few years back..."What's my favorite color green? Lime". Unless that was a song.

Yep!

Do yall make your own music?

We have traditionally used two music guys. Patrick Avard (I think his company is new level music now?) and Cory Hughes (Team First Music). If you want either of their contact info let me know.

How much does Orange prac? :)

Not more than any team in the gym. We all practice a lot. The younger and lower level teams have a harder fall, and the older and higher level teams have a harder spring practice schedule.

I would say Orange, Smoke, and Amber practice 2 times a week in the fall, but go to 3 and (and sometimes 4) times a week in the spring (especially before a major competition).

We are really picky and are not scared to spend an hour fixing an 8 count transition if needed.

How many teams do you have this year and what levels/age?
What team was it that wear the black uniforms, and in theyre pyramid at worlds 2011 they had "set fire to the rain" By Adele?>

The black uniforms are our International Open teams. We do not use anyone from our main program (except when an injury has happened) so we make their uniforms separate. Older athletes who are usually coaches from around the area.

There is a thread around here with a list of all our teams and divisions. If someone could find it that would be a big help! (I am a bit lazy on this one, haha)
