I broke my spine in 2 places and kept cheering on it for a month... not my brightest idea, lol. Dr said I need my spine fused together and a rod and cage put in my back.... instead I did physical therapy for a year and have had 3 successful seasons of cheer since then. :)

torn meniscus last year doing 2 to full in allstarss, got surgery on it exactly a year ago.

and this year in high school, a stress fractured foot from just tumbling in general, a dislocated thumb from a twist cradle, and a chipped kneecap from falling on one to fulls to my knees on the gym floor. ididnt go to the doctors for any of these, i just kept cheering on them and now with the little offseason that i get, they've kinda healed.

right now i have a torn acl and the side of my meniscus is flipped up and is torn. Surgery tomorrow:(

Acl was first working on fulls... i think? I went to RediMed and they said nothing was wrong, so i followed their instructions and got back on it. I was working on tucks and 1/2 my foot landed on rod floor and the other half into soft mat and locked out. I think that's when I tore my meniscus? finally went somewhere where they knew what they were doing and told me what was wrong &i need surgery and whatnot....... please tell me someone else has had one of these and the surgery wasn't that bad, i'm like freaking out!

My CP had her nose broken during practice and had to have surgery to have it reset. Then she was supposed to be out for 6 weeks so it could heal, but instead opted to wear a protective mask when she was stunting (like you see the basketball players wear sometimes to protect their face). She is now about 5 months since her surgery and we were told that it takes about 6 months for the swelling to be gone completely and that at 6 months it would be what her nose will look like for good, and it looks pretty good!

It's got to be between my knee injury (tearing my ACL + maniscus) AND spraining my neck.
Messed up my knee doing doubles and sprained my neck tumbling in wet grass... Stupid lol.
*Never had surgery. I just keep going <3. I figure I'll get the surgery after I'm completely finished cheering so I don't have to risk reinjuring it.

I've never been seriously injured (knock on wood), but I've seen someone hyper extend their knee while doing a RO BHS Layout on the competition mats. And I saw another girl fracture her foot while doing a RO Full during a full out run at practice. :/
ii've done the knee thing at copms so many times...ahahah.

I tore my minuscus I was out for i think it was 3months. We were re-working our rutine and I landed my layout odd and I thought it had just been my knee that poped out of place because thats normal for me and it was just hurting alot. So i ignored it and kept tumbling, and my coach wanted my to try standing tuck to one knee and it was the same knee so I just made it worse and finished the last 45 of practice tumbling...ahah Crutches for 2months :p

Then there was a guy a few years ago who was doing fulls on the floor without shoes on and riped his toe off... :S

Not really the worst injury I know of but I didn't want to start a new thread for this....
But tonight at an away football game. A cheerleader from our team Riverdale High School was hurt.
She was a base and some how her flyer came down and must have hit her. (we had just got a TD I wasn't paying attention)
Anyways she laid there on the track she didn't move her head, her arms, her legs. Her flyer was crying so much and all the coaches were around her.
The ambulance came and took her away on a stretcher. Still having not seen her move not 1 inch and she went to the hospital.
All the cheerleaders prayed for like 10 mins straight and were crying and hugging each other. I hope she is ok and everyone will pray for her!!!
I'll update if I find out what's wrong!!

First i hurt my knee doing a full at all star cheer then i fully tore my acl and medial and lateral meniscus from falling from a stunt at highschool cheer after :(
